    vial - rubber stopper vs. plastic

    My question is when you homebrew do you need to get rubber stoppers for your vials or is it ok to use plastic screw caps. I don't see why not. There was a someone that I read about that had a problem with getting little pieces of rubber into the vial. Any comments would be great thanks.

    i'd stick with the rubber then its easier to keep a sterile environment.

    So just the little bit of air thats in your home can contaminate your brew? If that is the case then why not just go outside on a nice day and cap it?

    ya what if a little piece of skin particle falls off of you and into the vial when u have it open drawing out of it and that skin particle had POO on it! no bueno

    Enough of this box talk. I asked a simple question with a simple answer; and yes I get it a couple of posts ago, ..... it's not a good idea to cap your own vials. Though I have heard of other people doing it. Not with a screw cap but like I suggested. But anyway.
