    Shoulder Bursitis and Tendonitis

    Hey guys,

Ive had some shoulder pains for about a year, they come and go. I finally went to the doc and they stated it was bursitis and tendonitis and gave me a shot of cortisone, worked for about a week or two then slowly but surely went back to the original pain. I can't really get through a shoulder workout, and even sometimes feel it in chest workout. 800mg Ibprofen does nothing, and seeing as the cortisone really didnt do much i figured id see if deca might help. I used some test and deca, and the dec did nothing at all. So ive been considering Aflutop or Adequan seeing as now it hurts just to move my arm to reach for something. Seems to me they might be the same thing, one vet, one human, but the results seem to vary. I really saw alot of negativity from the Aflutop, and more positivity from the Adequan, although the negativity i saw from the Adequan was from people running it at 125mg e4d, which i think might be too low and thats why they didnt get any results. They reccomend for canines 2mg/lb (i have a 100lb lab) and for horses 500mg e4d. So i know this logic might be stupid but i was thinkin im between the lab and horse so id go 300-350mg e4d and see how that works. Does that sound good, or does anyone have any other ideas on how i might deal with my shoulder problems??

thanks for your time and any help!

alright mate...i was told by the doc i had pre patellar bursitis (housemaids knee, lol)-which was odd as i hadnt had a direct blow to the knee (i had just been on a run). so i requested an MRI scan, and was told that there is inflammation of the patellar tendon, with possible tendinitis. anyway, had physio...nothing changed. so i went to a sports masseur. i told him that the scan picked up that i had a quad rupture (which i didnt notice had happened at the time) which the physio ignored for some reason and just concentrated on my knee. after working on the quad, calf and hamstring etc, for a few half hour sessions (1 a week), really beating the crap out of my leg (the injury was about 8 months old) im back running, taking it slow mind, but almost 100%.

so ild say see what a sports masseur has to say-there maybe something else causing the tension/inflammation in the shoulder which your doc missed. the physio i had was useless, and the doc just tried to palm off a quad rupture as housemaids knee....nice.

i found a link about a sports massage. it worked for me

if it is acute bursitis, rest the area as much as possible, taking anti inflammatories. if this doesnt clear up in a few weeks or so it maybe tendinitis. if it is tendinitis, see a physio, they can use ultrasound and use a technique called friction.

    hope that helps
