    Question lower back?

Hi i have a constant ache in my lower back which developed about a month ago. It isn't too bad but a little annoying, i know i haven't injured it so am wondering why. I feel that it's possibly

    1) Not doing enough deadlifts as it effects an injury in my upper back. If you agree then do you have an alternative that won't affect the upper back so much.

    2) Rapid increase in weight. I have upped my calories and the weight is going up fast.

    Any advice much appreciated

working your abs is the best way to unburdon load on your low back, especially the anterior column (important if it's disc related).
deadlifts usually agrivate low back conditions no matter what the cause of pain.
No way to figure out the cause of your pain with the info provided. Could be anything from a disc bulge to a muscle strain. Be careful.

More than likely is muscular...stretch and heat (at this point), work on some light back extensions, working abs would actually put you in more of a flexed posture and exacerbate something like a disc problem, extension exercises and flexion stretches will probably help you greatly

be careful you may have siatica, which dosent easily go away. You may have it for 8-12 weeks and then it will go away if you work out light. if it is severe then it can take longer. you may need physical therapy if you start to have problems with your hamstrings, calfs or the bottom of your feet starts to go numb.
