    Eating Out :)

    HAHA dirty minds.

Ok, so your out, your at a shopping centre/mall (americans) and you ate 3 hours ago and OOOPS! you forgot its time to eat again.

You go down to the food court - what do you eat?

Applies for anytime your going to buy something to eat i.e. subway, maccas, pizza hut, kfc, asian, italian, whatever...

Jamy you mentioned you have Subway???

Also if your keen enough add macros

I agree, I get this same sandwich if I am in a pinch and don't have a meal prepared. I ofter wonder if Subway's wheat bread is 100% whole wheat and if the chicken is processed?

Chick-fil-a's chargrilled chick sandwich on wheat is a good choice for healthy fast food as well.

if im in a mall with a food court, i usually go for the chinese of japanes food so i can at least get ample protien. only prob is the sodium but hey its the food court, you cant have it all. i usually count it as a chet meal though cus of the carbs.

Anything that isn't fried usually works for me. Grilled chicken is what I will normally get. Subway's not bad just as long as you get the right stuff on it.

Also, depends on my current goals. If I'm bulking, I have 3-4 cheat meals/week, so I'll go all out.

and do you feel that everything is made equal, or that your macros are exactly correct to your foods??

no, they are approximations..... hypothetical empirical estimates in a statistical average...

i weigh my foods and i pay attention to everything i eat... but the best way to figure whether or not your eating the correct macros and split is the correlation of change between your bf and your weight....

I am pro-active and plan ahead and bring my food with me or my shake with me so I don't get caught in these unfortunate situations. Fitness is always the FIRST on my mind before I go out anywhere to do anything, it has to be if you are to be successful.

BTW, if you knew what was in Subway you'd NEVER eat there!!

I know someone who used to work there, and you don't want to know what the chicken goes through and what's really in that processed garbage fake formed chicken looking "thing".

So for instance if my oats say 30g carbs per 100 grams i might be getting 25g carbs or 35 g carbs?

I thought they did tests to come up with the nutritional information labels?

On my container of oatmeal, it shows the macros per 1/2 cup of dry oats. I base my needs on that information, not sure how your oats come packaged. (I use the Quaker brand)

and when you weight your oats is there the exact same amount of "kernals" or whatever they are called in it? or do you think it has a stard deviation of about 30. Some days you might be gettin 29 some days 31

eatrainrest i don't have any issues. I'm just trying to work out what jamy said in the 2nd post about "as exact as the diet game is.. no one is "exact".

chitownhoker i think i understand what your saying. Was the word "stard" a mistype or a real word? (couldn't find it in the dictionary)

I'm at home everyday so i don't have this problem but i though it would be useful if the situation arises.

12 inch subway club. All veggies except black olives and banana peppers. Remove sandwich from wrapper, throw half of the bread away. Stack sandwich into 6 incher.

As i said im at home everyday so i don't have this problem but i though it would be useful if someone was at a shopping centre/mall and they forgot to eat what would be some good choices.

So 6 inch (est 50g carbs) or 12 inch Subway, rotisseries chicken - couldn't find any nutritional info on this - any comments? (fat & protein?)

i don't know if this has been mentioned so far, but if you think about it, any place that sells food is going to have the essential items, chicken, potatos, wheat bread, potatos, beef, etc...

so you can just ask them for those individually

for a place like subway i would ask for the following, double turkey on one half of a 6 inch wheat with mustard

I own a pizzeria and I dont have any problems when someone asks for something custom for diet needs. Just ask

Now at the mall you should avoid it but yes better to eat then not to eat.

The sodium is really only important if your cutting to look good. People talk about it but I don't understand how you can eat a lot of sodium when your eating a diet that is high in proteins and low in carbs and your concentrating on consuming lean meats. Each one of my meals is a grilled piece of meat or fish or canned tuna. I bake yams. I dont fry anything. I also eat oatmeal and oats. Dont add salt and eat healthy and you will naturally reduce your sodium without much thought.
