    Bicep Pain

    Hiya All,

Im suffering from pain in the region of the right bicep, where the head joins the bone at the elbow or at least thats the only place i can pinpoint as the pain.
It first came on after doing some incline dumbell presses about 2 weeks ago. Theres no pain when i stretch the wrist, or when i stretch the arm or hand in different directions. I only tend to feel it when i contract the bicep. However, today was chest day again, and i just couldnt press. The pain wasnt excrutiating or anything, it was more like when i pushed, the arm just gave up. Sometimes i can feel it throbbing, so to speak when im realaxed or in bed.
Ive never had anything like this before, and dont really know what to make of it. Should i go light on sets, or perhaps give up amy work outs for a while and do some cardio instead? Problem is, Im half way through a cycle.

    What do ya reckon guys?

I have the same problem dude. Its been over 2 months now and it still hurts. I took 3 weeks off the gym which seemed to help but after going back for 2 days my arm hurts again. I guess I'll try to work out with light weight for a while to get the blood flowing, hopefully that will help.

Had/have the same issue. Weird how you feel it more when doing chest than back. Mine is the same way and you would think it would be the exact opposite. I tried everything and finally got some major relief through accupuncture.

Accupuncture, cortisone shot, alot of stretching and patience.. I stretch after every set of bis big time and shake it out too, seems to help me I haven't felt that pain in a long while now..

The thing that scares me about getting a cortisone shot is the pain/damage is still there you just cant feel it anymore.

True... I would get it checked by a doctor before this route as well. This is what I did for my back, I knew the problem and had it confirmed and really only weight loss was the only thing that could help, but too much pain to loose weight and get around.

But on the bicep I always had that pain for along time figured it was growing pains due to the time frame, but after stretching after every exercise and before it seem to get better very slowly.

I have been dealing with a similar problem, only mine is at the top of the bicep making my shoulder hurt as well...I Have been basically taking it easy stopping whenever it starts to hurt, after 3 weeks it is much better and I am thinking of resuming regular training after another week or so,advil seemed to help 1 hour before training and at bedtime along with ice ..good Luck
