Lab results came back today, going to the Endo next

    Greetings....

    Stats

Male 34yr old (feeling real f'ckin old)
    5'10"
    200 lbs
Never done a cycle ever, been active / atheltic for 14 years.
I eat very well, no fast food, candy, etc. I live off fruit, oatmeal, sushi, chicken breasts, beef, and other whole foods.

I've been reading for the past few months everyone's advice and took in everything with great thought. For the past 8 years I've felt like shit, had to be depression I thought, sought help...no good. Every year it's been getting worse.....lack of motivation, lethargic, muscle mass is going down, low strength, etc. Finally someone who knows a thing or two mentioned to go have a some bloodwork done for Test levels. He also advised having have the test done outside of my regular doctor also. This is what came back....

    Values based for a 30 - 39 yr/old Male

    Total Testosterone- 610 (ref range 380 - 835 ng/dl) Blood Serum Test

    Free Testosterone - 49.6 (ref range 60 - 125 pg/ml) Saliva Test

    Test #1 (Blood)
I made the mistake of asking my primary care who is a woman for my tests. She only requested a Total Testosterone blood test instead of Free Testosterone. She came back and told me that I was within range and my test levels was fine. She also said my Vitamin D levels were low and said to take some different vitamins. She said nothing else was needed and come back in 3 months.

    Test #2 (Saliva)
Comes back from a different doctor / lab and I was told my "free test" levels were low and to see and consult an Endo about this.

I'm going to the Endo this week so I can have the correct tests done to zero in on this. I'm happy I paid a visit here and heeded the good advice and search button. Turning your body into a chemisty set is not a good idea for experiments in health without some numbers.

If it does turn out to be something "testosterone" related, how did it make you feel once you started?

Some Doc's will tell you you're fine because your total test is on in range, they won't even consider free. If the 1st Dr is sketchy about starting anything than don't even bother seeing him again, look for a new Doc.
I would however get another test to be sure, make sure it's in the AM after a good night sleep. It's a large step going on TRT, unless it's really what you want I would be sure to make sure it's what's wrong.

I'm pretty sure this is what needs to be done. Saliva test was done at 7:30am in the morning as it was done by the book. I wish I could get a good night's rest, but that's one of those symptoms that even Ambien couldn't cure. I have every symptom related to low test, the latest was weak bones. I wish this wasn't the case, but I'm about as text book as this gets. We'll see what the Endo comes back with this week. If it has to be a lifetime thing, it'll be worth it to improve the quality of life.

Indeed it will, good luck. Read these boards, lots of good info.
Typically docs like to start on the gel, it's usually more expensive than the injectable but easier to apply. Common consensus is injectable > gel.
Dosage min 100mg a week, I've seen some docs go as low as 100mg a month which is WAY under dosed. Good luck.
