Who are the scammers?

Is there a thread anywhere on this site with the usernames of those who have scammed before? I am working with someone thought to be legit and the mods are telling me to stay away. I am going to avoid the transaction now. But I was wondering if there is a blacklist anywhere on this site

If anyone PM's you offering gear from this site, usually they are scammers especially if they are trying to take you off the board to another site for your business. There are a few kids on here who are trying to scam, do not deal with them. Be warned

not saying they are wrong in this instance but they are not always wright about scammers either.
I've been told to stay away from email sites because they are scams and have found out to the contrary on many instances Bro.

Solid advice... thanks. I gotten an offer from a UGL from a user on this site. I believed it to be legit because he has over 1,000 quality posts. If a mod tells me to stay away, I will. But I also read here to ask more than one mod.... so I sent a PM to a few. I am just trying to follow the rules, and use the advantages offered.

With that being said.... if a user reports to a mod with the name of the scammer, is he banned from the boards for good? I think for now I will stick to a website that I am looking at. And yeah, I was referred to another website... a message forum.

Brother I would never ask another member for a source. I would PM a mod when I found my own source, and have them verify- if they would be so kind as to do so. I don't want to ask a user for a source cause that is asking to be ripped off. Anyway, I have found an amazing website so far, and I have asked a few senior members, who agreed.

Anyway, i know users would get banned after scamming, so of course there is no list. I should have thought about that before I posted. Sorry about the lack of common sense

These guys do the grunt work... investigating sources etc.

Thanks again for all of the assurance. I just get nervous about sending PMs to mods trying to clarify an internet source. I am worried that I would get flamed or banned. Still new to the system. I was asking senior members, not vets or mods... but now I know

I really don't understand why people even make a big fiasco over this. It is prohibited to talk about sources in public, not pm.

And no I am not handing out sources but I research this shit more then any "mod" or "vet" on this board. Again I'm not trying to demean anyone but when I use to pm mods back in the day 75% of the answers I got were "uhh I really am not sure".

Noone can know every place out there but I know enough to have a clue what I'm talking about.

Just before you throw them a source ask them first via pm if they even do source checks.

I have gotten more help from senior members on this board then vets or mods, and the reason why is simple, theres MORE of them. You just gotta know whos been here a while and who knows what.

I look at senior members as those who have been here for a long time, and have created stickies... as well as have a great reputation. Again I'm NOT trying to stir any shit but the FIRST people a scammer is gonna pay off is a vet or mod. Its happened at other boards and it will happen again.
The scammer pays a vet to talk up the source, then the source rips off all the customers the vet brings in.

Again this is rare, but its more likely to happen with a vet or mod then a senior member. Truth is it can happen with anyone but its just to give you another perspective on things. And I just pmd you back.

while I feel where you are coming from, at the same time the fact that there are more senior members increases the odds that there are more scammers that are senior members. I've been here long enough to know you're a straight shooter, but for a noob, it's a gamble no matter how you slice it. the best advice anyone can give is don't gamble with more than you're willing to lose.

You sent me that quote in a PM and I soaked it in. However, the whole aas game is a gamble. I have quite a bit to lose, but I am sure that as long as I stay small-time and keep this to myself (with the exception of board members) I should be ok. My job requires me to be strong and fast, so as long as what I am doing is not obvious, they will sweep it under the rug
