    Bodyfat and Steroid Use

I've done some initial research and was unable to find any solid answers on this particular subject matter.

O.k Here's the deal, I've done a few cycles however my bodyfat percentage is higher than 15% which is recommended by many members here as a starting point to be prior to cycling any compounds.

I've done cycles with good results and am getting larger and am clearly gaining muscle mass so my question is why is a low bodyfat percentage a prerequisite to steroid use and if so what are your opinions? What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks guys.

higher body fat greatly increases the odds of having negative sides, such as blood pressure issues, estrogen related sides such as gyno, etc. in addition, many feel that steroids should be included once other areas such as proper diet and training are in place, if someone can't get below 15%bf naturally there are likely shortcomings in other areas.

agreed.....BIG summed it up perfectly....if you looking for others to say its ok then im shure you will because its really and individual decision and others have done it, but it is unadvised........

Here is some advice....I mean experience....

Body fat was just north of 20%...6 1 285lbs. Plenty of fat on the ol body. Got the same advice as above and decided (as usual) that I would do what I wanted to do regardless of advice. (Just for full disclosure I was also on Paxil which made it almost impossible for me to loose wieght...and spell..lol ) So I dropped the paxil..no problems...and started 2ml Test Cyp 150 2/w and 2ml NDD 100 eod...I also had HGH but don't think that figures into the situation per se. Also ran provrion @ 100 ed and A-dex 50 eod (dropped it though...)

So the first thing that happens is the resting heart rate went from 55-60 to 75-80. Just walking up the stairs caused a state of being winded. Heart palpatations were common and started to freak me out. Gained about 10lbs almost immediately....ok..couple weeks...as I recall. Now I am 50 yrs old but have been in the gym before many on this board (no disrespect) were even swimmers in thier daddy's balls. Still I had no experience with AAS. Point is that I was not new to working out or diet nutrition and so on..

Anyway, I didn't die, didn't have a heart attack, and am now doing pct nolva/clomid/hcg (for the first week).

Moral to the story...what you were told is true. Being overwieght and going on AAS is really fuqing tough because of the sides. That water weight is really tough on the heart and just overall doing life.

End of story though is different. I maintained a pretty decent diet (but not as rigorous as most would suggest) and my body fat has easily dropped by half...My weight is 277 this am..and that is after a week in the Bahamas where I tried to watch my diet but vacation is what it is...

My heart rate is back down..it actually started returned to more normal rates about midway through my 12 week cycle or I just got used to it..not really sure. Strength went up pretty good...example being my bench went from about 5-6x 275 to a couple sets of 5-6 of 315-325. I leaned out and look totally different. Got lots of attention in the Bahamas..felt good...a nice flat stomach, big arms, shoulders...thats right...looking good.

So if anyone can...I would strongly suggest loosing the weight first..especially if older...seriously...I really thought I might have a heart a attack a couple times. Never had one so don't know what it feels like but the palpatations and shortness of breath seems like a precursor.

    So whatever..do what you want...

One last thing...that tuna in my avatar is 175lbs....nice fish eh?
