    Newbie...what's best to start with....

Hi all. Please don't flame me. I've looked into different steroids briefly but would like some suggestions what may be good for me to check out. I'm 33, a little over 6'3, and 178lbs. I'm trying to gain explosive strength for jumping, running, lunging, etc...
What would be some good choices that are affordable, few side effects, and preferably oral.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome. At 6'3 178 lbs you have some room to grow naturally. What does your diet and training regimine look like??

I know, trust me. I see a lot of people who say if I worked out I would be a monster. My job consists of physical activity. You don't want to know what my training regimine looks like. I just work out when I get a chance. I'm just starting to set up a schedule that will include cleans, dead lifts, squats, etc... but nothing is set.
Everyone tells me I have great potential if I start working out consistently.

So you can't work out consistently but you want to use AAS? How does that make sense?

The AAS will not workout for you. And secondly something to consider is that gear is going to reduce collagen production. So while your strength will begin to skyrocket and you will make incredible gains in the gym (because you haven't done these exercises AND you're on AAS) your tendons will become worse and worse. You will be really risking yourself for an injury. Your body has not yet adapted to real training and throwing in AAS has a high probability of ending in an injury.

I am just starting a training schedule so I do have time now. I wasn't planning on taking anything right away. I was actually going to ask how long working out before it would be safe.
Also, if you saw me, you wouldn't say I'm skinny, maybe legs are a bit small but I'm actually naturally pretty big upper body and a bit ripped without doing much. No one believes me that I don't do weights. If I have time I'll take a pic and show you what I mean. I've never been able to put on much weight. I usually eat around 3500 cal a day or more. But I am going to change my diet. I definately need more protein.

My gaol is to be around 190 and leaner. Being bulky won't help with my sport, I have to stay light and fast.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Nobody's saying that you're skinny in comparison to the average joe walking around. What they mean is you're still quite light to be considering using AAS. The average gentically typical person with a normal bone structure and average height (5'9ish) and metabolism can weigh up to 190-195 pounds lean, be able to bench press AT THE VERY LEAST 275-300 pounds and full squat 375-400 pounds. All naturally. I know this is possible because I achieved more than this myself without any AAS or supplements of any kind, just good hard training.

Basically what any responsible user of AAS will tell you is, AAS are not a shortcut to getting what you could get normally, but a way to push yourself past your genetic potential or a plateau.

If you do not know how to train or eat correctly OFF of AAS, you will not be able to keep muscle gains you make on AAS anyway.

That being said, oral only steroid cycles are generally frowned upon, especially orals that cause a weight gain like dianabol and anadrol, because the gains made on them are nearly impossible to keep without a solid base of injectable testosterone usually run for a few weeks after in an attempt to solidify the gains made. Also, with an oral you will almost definitely gain a significant amount of water retention and some fat, which may slow you down if it is execessive.

It is possible for you to reach 190 pounds and lose a couple % body fat easily within 6-12 months naturally, maybe even sooner, if you eat and train correctly.

Thanks doctorb325, that's the info that I wanted. Like I said, I haven't researched much and answers like yours are what I'm looking for. I'll definitely stick with a good diet and constant training schedule for the next 6-12 months.
