    What does bump mean

    I know I'm opening myself up to some internet brow beating here, but what does bump mean? Does it mean you want the tread gone. Just seems so girly to me to care that much about someone else's thread.

    The "new posts" button brings up the most recently updated threads, so "bump" basically bumps those threads up to the top. If someone's thread hasn't gotten views in a while, someone might bump it to put it back on the front page.

    Actually, a good example of "bumping" a thread is what you did when you first joined.

    Bumping a thread just puts it at the top of the "new posts" list.

    It's not girly. lol. It's actually a very beneficial thing.

    When respected members write an informative thread, it's a good thing to bump it so new members can see it.

    Also some people use "ttt" which means to the top. or "up" or just plain pictures of half naked girls. (jbm) There are lots of ways to bump threads
