I never ever bleed when I pin... but once every 30 or 40 times I'll leek a little bit for 5 - 10 seconds before it stop and a put a band aid on it.
Does that even sound like nicking a vein or is that just typical and I'm a freak for never bleeding?

I've pinned for years, and never used a band aid. I just hold an alcohol swab over the spot for a few seconds.
lol - Just wondering if the bleeding for 5 - 10 seconds is typical or if i nicked a vein?
or do you bleed for a while when you nick a vein?
i bled the other day with a bit of leaking but I didn't feel anything worth worrying about, I just put a band aid on it and moved on. I usually never ever bleed but a little tiny pin drop.
ok - I'm just a med student and feel like it would be obvious if I ask these questions in class since I'm 10X bigger than everyone else. And obviously this is a no no to do and don't want to get tested on a no tolerance policy. And with all the crazy shit i see day in and day out I am OVERLY cautious.
sometimes i get a gusher. never need a bandaid. just apply pressure with an alcohol pad or tissue for like 30 seconds.

i think that happens when you go through the vein
yerps your being a bitch haha
Same as above... just an alcohol swab. The only thing I am worried about is the possibility og gear leaking out after an injection. I could care less about the blood. I have enough of that crap inside of me
El Corvino=bitch
Bleeding after an intramuscular injection is normal. It depends on whether you've traumatized a local vessel, and whether your skin is "flush" or your vessels are dilated. You can have flush skin if you are in a warm environment, if you are excited, if you are stimulated (such as with caffeine or ephedrine), or if you just completed a workout.
By the way, the best way to minimize backflow after an injection - pull your skin to one side when you inject. That way, when you take the needle out and you relesae your skin, there is no longer a "straight line" out for the fluid to escape. Does that make sense? It's easier to demonstrate than to describe.
Forgot to add - a normal bleeding time is anywhere from 1 to 6 minutes. It's such a wide range because of the factors I described above.
Ha ha. I know that's what it's called ... didn't know you guys would know that!
Thanks for pointing out that I didn't give you guys enough credit. You've humbled me and I apologize.
Just stick around, there is a lot to learn here
