A lot of keto posts today - Fat Sources?

No nuts, no mayo/ranch/cheese/etc, no pork, no ribeye steaks, fried meats, or typical lamb cuts. Those are the parameters - list some good fat sources.

I find much of my fat ends up coming from whole eggs and salmon.

Why no nuts? I thought almonds were good?

Yeah, they're fine. It's just that if you eat them with more than 1-2 of your 7ish meals, you'll go well beyond your carb allotment for the day.

They're a great fat source for a balanced diet regardless. But on keto, ideally, you're getting all the carbs you can afford to take in via vegetables as is.

For real? On keto, I find myself having those things occasionally when out with people at restaurants and such but I try to keep it clean. Those foods won't hinder weight loss of course within the parameters of the diet.

When you say fired meat, what are you referring to? Also any paricular cheese?

^yah, you're right. Of course, fish oil.

I copied that from another post, and I had already said fish oil that thread.

Haha, I find myself eating pork rinds on keto quite often. But I go for the bland ones that have less sodium over bbq. Lately I've been on a flax oil kick and I've stopped buying nut butters since an extra serving or 2 can derail your entire day of dieting; but they're just so damn good!

Go to a Mexican store and get ChicharrĂ³nes, so much better than grocery store pork rinds.

    Olive oil, flax seed oil.

Like TOP, I'm not overly fastidious when it comes to meat sources. I eat bacon, sausages, hamburger mix, steaks, ham the lot.

It hasn't had any detrimental effect on the effectiveness of the diet when I run it put it that way.

I thought as you starve your body of carbs it metabolizes energy from other sources - fat in the diet and fat on your body. Its not like these fat sources get stored on your body as your weight is continually dropping.

At the end of the day we're all a bit different but see what works for YOU.
