    pwo meal timing.

    im not able to get in the gym until 8pm during the week. so if i eat a meal at 6pm... have a pre workout shake with water/25g protein/5g creatine at 7:15....workout 8-9...have a pwo shake with water/50g protein/5g creatine/half cup of oats at 9:15 should i be forcing another meal before i sleep at 10 or am i good???
    i pretty sure the rest of my diet is spot on...

    I would say since your carb source after you work out is actually a complex carb you should be fine.. most of the time pwo meal contains simple carbs

    thats the answer i was hoping for. it would be tough to get that last meal down after eating all day and especially right before sleep

    no you dont need another meal, but I would def try and eat more for my PWO meal, probably ditch the shakes and do an actual meal

    i thought about about eating a whole meal instead but isnt the golden rule to have quick digesting whey protein pwo??

    way overrated brother, these guys act like unless they have a shake and dextrose right after they set a dumbbell down, they're body is gonna say **** it and lose muscle. Def hyped up, eating a whole food meal would benefit you more than a shake at that time of the evening if it was ur last meal before bed

    Drink a PWO shake with the standard 45g pro/80g carbs. Then an hour later eat a pro/fat meal. The general rule for post workout is your PWO and PPWO meal should have carbs, unless before bed in which case the PPWO is pro/fat

    if u do the pwo shake u gotta have a ppwo meal---if u wanna drop the shake u gotta do a real meal pwo---otherwise find a new wo time

    remember that shake is gone in an hour---u need somethin thats gonna b there for 3-5 hr----think red meat and sweet potato and veggies

    So your telling me that its o.k. And i should be eating a meal right before i go to sleep?? And this meal should be pro/fat??

    yes eat bfore u go to sleep---i do it every night---although im not saying it has to b pro/fat---dont know what the rest of ur diet looks like

    It's already been touched on but I must emphasize, that shake is important directly after working out but it won't be in you long. 20-40 minutes is what I've been taught. Have your carbs with it (whatever is easiest to mix in, I'd stick with oats because simple carbs late in the evening is definitely a no-no unless bulking, and even then probably not the best idea).
    Then eat a pro/fat meal at home. Ideally just a steak of some sort w/ veggies. Any red meat will take much longer to break down in your system and nourish longer. A casein shake is another option if you wake up at some point in the night to go to the bathroom. If that's the case, you'll be negating any diminished results with such a late workout.
