Unhappy Ok.. what a DAY !! I have the WORST Luck.. Read.

Wanna know my luck everyone.. do you!?!

Today, I took my 5month old Pitbull Pup out to go to the bathroom.. as a reward, i give him a treat for going PEE outside..

So.. I bring him in, he's all happy.. wanting his treat.. and he's so excited he jumps in the air to grab it out of the air.. he lands wrong..

And breaks NOT 1 .. but BOTH BACK FIBULA'S ... so he had to have emergency surgery.. he is at the Vet Hospital as I type this.. Poor lil dude..

Guys. He was so in pain, and there was nothing I could do.. he criend and whimpered.. then started going into shock.. shaking.. eyes bugging out of his head.

I am telling you, I have NEVER been so scared in my life. I was so worried for my little dude. I have had 5 grown men try and kick my ass.. I have been stabbed.. i have been shot at. I have had multiple guns pulled on me. AND NONE OF THAT PUT ME IN AS MUCH FEAR as I felt today..

To top it off... I have the friggin flu.. I havent been able to eat for two days.. puking... diarrhea... i would be lucky if I have consumed 100g's of protein in the last 48 hours. I have been able to hold down crackers and some bread .. yaaay muscle building food there...

Ok enough of that... Everyone.. My dude.. My Man... IS ALL ALONE in a vet hospital with 6 metal pins holding his back legs together... WTF !?

2833 dollars later.. he is all paid for.. but he still isn't home.. I am devastated..

I just can not believe that he broke both his legs.. Can't even fathom it. I want my good boy home.. and the worst part is... no matter what I do.. that just isn't possible..

Oh.. and a little more on my bad luck.. had a friend die 2 days ago.. His Parents had to pull the plug due to NO Brain Activity... So Now.. I am sick as hell.. I have a double broken leg dog.. and I have a lifetime friend's wake/funeral to attend..

    FML !!

Shit man, I'm sorry to hear that.

Are you walking under ladders and breaking mirrors all day? You have had some awful luck between injuries of your own, now this.

I don't know HOW it happened.. it was just so quick.. he always just jumps in the air to play.. but this time.. he just.. just.. just.. just.. LANDED wrong.. and yelped.. and cried.. and my god.. it was the most shocking moment in my life... Now mind you.. I haven't shed a tear of sadness in over 6 years... but I balled my eyes out when I had to say goodbye to him before they took him for surgery...

We just got off the phone with the recovery center and he's doing great.. everyone says he is the greatest dog they have ever seen.. so happy.. even though he just had two broken legs repaired.. and had surgery.. the nurse held the phone to his ear and Me and his momma talked to him, and he tried to get up to get us and his tail started going a mile a minute the nurse said.. then he started whining.. .. my poor dude...

I'll post up pictures from the hospital tomorrow... and when we bring him home.. he's such a good boy.. MY BAD LUCK is rubbing off on the poor lil guy !!

Now, I have to try and recoup a double broken leg pinned surgerized puppy... ugh.. What a poor lil dude.. This is my first night away from him since October 1st... I don't like.. NOPE ... Not one bit.

NOW, we have to hope and pray that the Surgeon did her job correctly so these leg breaks do not impede his growing.. I'll keep ya'll updated..

Thank YOU ALL for your concern !!

I know exactly what you mean, it can scare the fvck out of you.

I was on a boat once fishing and had my min pin on it. We had a whole bunch of london broil that we had brought to make sandwiches out of.

Naturally she was beggin (still a puppy) so I gave her a piece, it was rather big, and we hadn't had the dog long enough at this point to realize she swallows her food whole, and usually doesn't chew it.

She tried swallowing the meat, and it got stuck in her throat. I hadn't realize till about 10 seconds later, when she started literally scratching my leg and making a weird gurgling noise. (how fvckn smart are dogs that she knew to scratch my leg as a pup?)
I realized she was choking to death, and had NO CLUE what to do. I grabbed her neck and started squeezing it firmly, then letting go, thinking I could losen it up. She began to pee all over me and crying more frantically (when she peed I thought her next move was to black out). My dog is shaking, gurgling, crying, and actually biting me at this point because shes so nervous I guess. I literally started to hit her in the stomach lightly, and then I gave her one good shot in the neck, and amazingly her airway opened up and she swallowed it.

My mom was crying hysterically, but my dog would not leave my side for the entire rest of the day. And that dog also became the best dog I've ever had my entire life. I never really loved an animal like I love that thing, her personality is just like mine, shes the most affectionate thing in the world, and has no fear of anything. But ever since that day, its been really weird to see, but she seems to have actually developed a lifelong bond with me that she hasnt with other people in my family. And I'm sure to a degree its because I saved her life.
Its a dumb little story, but I know when a dog gets hurt, its really no different then when someone in your family gets hurt.

Hopefully all will work out for the best deuce! g/luck - Bo

Thanks Bo.. and I am so glad you were able to save the pups life.. that's so awesome !!

But what I am worried about.. technically I caused the injury. Maybe at his thinking because I was giving him the treat when he jumped and the injury happened, then Momma came to the rescue... he laid on her lap the whole ride to the Hospital.. wouldn't even look at me.. He used to never leave my side.. but now i believe the tables have turned ... he will wanna be strictly his momma's boy..

There is NO WAY I will be able to sleep tonight..

I mean, what kind of puppy breaks BOTH his Back legs.. THE DEUCE's PUPPY that's who !!

my dog when he was 3 months old slipped down the front steps, he made a yelp, then just layed there....

it freaked me right out, i thought the worst.... he was luckily ok - but i can understand your fear.

my puppy is now 7 months, and he is my best friend. i would be heartbroken if anything happened

hopefully because he's young, he'll bounce back and heal fast.

    best of luck deuce

Sorry about your dog man But don't beat yourself up!! It's not your fault he landed wrong, just a freak accident.

Pups heal fast! He'll be good as new in no time!

Hope you both feel better soon.

I know Friend.. haha, I was a bouncer for many a years, it was my job to put people into PAIN when they were non-compliant... and it didn't phase me one bit when I bounced my elbow off someone's face after they kicked me in the balls or punched me in the beak .. and watched them cry as they tried to pick their teeth up off the barroom floor ... I got pleasure out of that..

But I am a SOFTY for Animals.. I despise animal abusers. And it was a 10-fold hurt and pain scenario when it was my own PUP in excruciating pain, knowing there was absolutely NOTHING I could do for him.. he was just looking at me like.. "Daddy, why, why, why does it hurt so bad Daddy. Help me, please help me." God I am like tearing up now thinking about it,,

I just want to go get him and bring him home.. a couple more hours.. that's it.. 2oclock and I can go get my Dude..

Sorry to hear that brother. I hope your little guy makes it out alive. I know the pain. I had a puppy husky named Nala. She was so damn happy all the time, and always affectionate. A month after I had her she started to get diahrrea (sp?), and she would vomit. It went on for 3 days. I took her to the vet. She was diagnosed with having Parvo. They had her with an IV giving her a saline solution. About 3 days later she couldn't get up. She layed on her stomach for 2 days and did not move once. When I went to see her to say my goodbyes, she stood up, took one step towards me, and crashed onto the floor. I went to visit her every day, hoping that she would get better. I was going to go in one last time, and make the call whether to pull the plug. It was too late. She was laying in a pool of her own intestines..... As I left the vet, then stopped me in a hurry... and asked for payment. I am not going to get another dog again. I always talk about getting a Mastiff... but I know that I cannot go through that again.

Deuce, if everything works out for you then you need to put your little guy's pictures all over this forum

i feel for ya duece. about a year ago i had just brought my pit home he was 3 months exactly. he starts throwin up cant eat, drink water, nothing. i bring him to the vet and he has to stay for 3 days with lung infections, and an infection in his knee cap. finally hes ready to come home they tell me its $2600. it was labor day weekend so they stuck it up my ass for twice as much as normal. and wouldnt give him back till i had paid the whole thing. had to post date a check for the next pay period.

all said and done hes good now. 98lbs red nose eating machine named Tank. hope everything turns out ok man, these dogs are pretty tough.

had one get hit by a camry while he was chasing a cat, he got up and just kept chasing.

This is one of the surgery scars where they put in the IM PINS + Plate + screws to put hisself back together..

And this is HIM at home.. with his E-Collar on because he wanted to lick and bite his stiches.. stupid head !!

    Ill just add deuce mate

I knew a person and he he was talking to a phew of us and we were on the subjects of dogs. Who's owned what, how big it was, weather it was vicious or a happy dog etc.

Anyway long story cut short, his father owned a Labrador and his father went to family funerals, friends funerals, alot of drastic things happend to his father in life but never cried.

When his dogged died though, he had never seen his father cry until that day, his father was devastated for up to week. Would not talk would hardly eat, and would just be isolating himself.

Hope all goes well for u and ya dog mate, pittys are strong dogs he will be right
