Buying gear while on vacation in Mexico

Hey guys, so I'm off to Mexico in two weeks and I'm playing on mailing myself an early Xmas present. I know there are people on this board that have purchased down south before. Can you guys give me some tips on what brands to look for to avoid counterfeits and get quality gear? Are there specific chains of pharmacies that are better? Specific stores? (cancun)

I don't see how I am breaking the rules. I'm not talking about mail order sites and I'm not planning on making any illegal purchases. I am asking for advice on where to buy a product LEGAL in that country. If I asked where the best place to buy shoes is that wouldn't be breaking the rules either

You are bringing a product into a country where it is illegal. Is it legal to bring a lb of weed from Amsterdam back into the USA?

There legal but banned for sale, as such you can own and use freely but the government doesn't allow free trade on them commercially. Hopefully someone can offer advice

My wife and I were just in Cancun a month ago(not for the intent of looking for gear) but figured while we were there it wouldnt hurt to look. Now let me tell you, I really REALLY do my researce on counterfeit gear, and everything I saw was fake or tampered with. Now, is there real gear in Mexico?? Of coarse, but not in high tourist areas like Cancun.
