    urologist for Test?

I have been having a hard time deciding on a doctor to go to for low test. I just got my blood work back and my test level was 125. My free test was 3.1.I am 41 and in good health. I tried going thru the TRT clinics but they were very expensive and would not take insurance. I have an appointment with a urologist next week. I was told that they are good in this area. What are the odds that he will put me on test? I have been running test-E for 17 weeks and my source dried up. I want to see results in the gym as well as in the bed room. Any suggestions? Thanks

Go for it, but it may be a long ride. If you can afford it I suggest you pay for it. Have you tried a restart?

very good chance of getting test from a urologist....first got to rule out prostate cancer and pituitary (did i spell that right mr. corvette?) then you'll get your script

In both cases, they can run initial lab work to check for abnormalities. The prostate usually starts with a test that's referred to as a PSA test (Prostate Specific Antigen). Simple lab work can also check the various functions of the pituitary (just for jpkman), which produces a variety of hormones ... LH, FSH, TSH, GH and even prolactin to name a few. Your doctor might also schedule an MRI to check for tumors or anomalies.

Now have them start with giving you a good old fashion prostate exam to kick off the ceremony. Just hope your doctor isn't Andre the Giant or anything!

Sorry bout that Firestorm, I didn't catch this when I did my last post about doing the PSA test ... Looks like you got that covered. 0.6 sounds really good!!! Don't think the doc will turn the lunk alarm on with that score.

Should I just tell the doctor what I have taken in the last 17 weeks? I took Test-E 1200mg per week. Once my source dried up I begain to taper it down to 300 per week. I can not feel anything at 300. My gear may be "watered down". I just dont want the doctor to think that all I want it for is to bodybuild. If it helps in that area that is a plus.

Firestorm, seriously, that's a huge amount ... No wonder your test results are in the 100's, you probably shut yourself down good. Like flats mentioned, what are your stats? BW before? etc. Did you have any intention on doing a PCT at some point? I hope that you were taking some form of AI during this blast ... Check your estrogen levels, soon!

I did not check my blood before I did the Test. I started taking the test at 600 per week and did not feel anything and a month later bumped it up to 900per week and felt better. I ran it for a while and then went to 1200 and could not tell much difference in 900 to 1200. Then I started lowering it when the supply ran out. I did not take anything else with this test cycle. I got my blood results back a couple days ago and my test level is 125. My Estradiol level is 18.3. I really believe that my test was low before I started the cycle because I feel the same now as I did before the cycle. Test showed me what I was missing.

I am 41 6'1 and 208 while on the test cycle. Now I am at 300 mg per week and weighing 203. I can tell I lost size. I know that I should have been using a blocker but too late to make up for that error. I really hope the Doc will start me on test again. These TRT labs in Florda are too expensive for me and they do not take insurance.

OK, IMO you need to sit down with your doctor and have a heart-to-heart and be up front with everything. The doc isn't there to bust you or to judge you. You might get an earful about a few things, but there's plenty here that will give you an earful too for how you went about this cycle. The thing is, if the doctor puts you on HRT, you're on it for life ... This isn't a short-term program. However, his prerogative will be to keep you in a normal range of 300-800, +/- a few points either way. That usually means 100mg to 200mg of "T", or worse yet you get stuck with one that loves AndroGel.

The reason we're wanting to know what your test levels were before is because there might be a chance that you still can produce your own testosterone naturally. Hence, "restart". So ... Yes, I would get in and go through all of this with the doc and put all the cards on the table!

Thanks for your help. I wish I did a blood test before starting the cycle. I know that I feel the same now as I did before the cycle. My sex drive and energy levels are very low. I would love to have something that would help me grow in the gym and help me in my sex life.

    imo,
at our age its easier just to go on trt as it will give more optimal testosterone levels than you could probably restore..

    just my .02

I agree because my natural test levels had to be low in order for me to see that big of difference.

That's true ... My only point was that a 0.6 is a good score, and I don't think the doctor is going to be too upset with that result ...
