    Bicep Injection problem...

I decided to pin my bicep today for the first time. When I inserted the 1" needle about 1/2 way in, my bicep twitched, and contracted like I was flexing it even though I was relaxed. After about 5 seconds it stopped and relaxed. I aspirated and nothing came out. I injected a small amount and felt an odd stinging. I decided to abort and pulled the needle out, soon as it was out, the blood came running down my arm. It bleed steady for a minute or two. After applying pressure for awhile it stopped. Now it is a bit sore.

Anyone ever experience anything like this? I feel fine other that the sore spot in my bicep. I'm going to stick with glutes or quads from now on though...

Might have punctured a vein or artery. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ive had the twitch and contraction problem with my quad before but not the blood, figured it was just a nerve.

    first off. OUCH!

second. its apparent you hit a nerve and injected the drug around it. why did you go into the bicep?

that sounds painful. i injected into quad before and was sore for almost a week.

hope you get better dude and you most likely will.

I ran out of 1.5" needles. Just have 1" on hand. Wanted to pin somewhere different lol. I looked up spot injections and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I massaged and put ice on it. It's starting to feel a little better. The sting and amount of blood kinda freaked me out. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need to go to the ER or something.

You should be fine man just keep an eye on it. First time I hit a nerve and saw my thigh twitch it scared the sh!t out of me, if it bled like that it would have been even worse . With a 1" needle you can go quads and delts. just rotate those. Havent done delts yet but alot of people say its easy. I can't do the one handed pin yet (have only pinned 5 times so far) but I will be rotating to delts once I can.

I would say you probably didn't hit a nerve, you probably nick a vein or went through it, and whenever it went through u flexed due to the sudden pain, happends when your not use to it.

if you hit a nerve normaly it dosent keep bleeding, it just unbarable pain when you try to go through it that you gave up and inject somewhere else..

wouldn't worry about it thought its not life threatening unless you lose all your blood!~

Never had blood run out my bicep, just the little bubble. I always tried to go between the veins. I used a 1'' needle to, injected deca there. As far as the twitching, lol, thats common......My thighs twitched too.

The bicep is a tough site for some. I injected in both of mine for a while but experienced too much post injection pain compared to other sites. I also had twitching frequently. When I hit a nerve and see a twitch, the site is more painful post injection.

You must have gone through a vein and when you pulled out the needle, you saw blood. That's common.
