What bloodwork to request in the morning?

My journey can be seen in this thread

    http://forums.steroid.com/showthread.php?t=415479

I have an appointment with a new endo at Ohio State Medical Center tomorrow. I am really nervous that it will be another failure of a doctor and want to make sure I have the correct info when I go in.

I have been doing weekly self injections of 100mg and feel totally different that 200mg every two weeks. Although I feel different, still not a 100%. I am still tired throughout the day and cannot sleep at night. My strength is back and energy levels are up. Morning wood is back, but drive is still not all the way. Anxiety is elevated. Have signs of early gyno too: Sore nipples with small nodule behind, my last E2 was in the low 30's. May be higher now.

I want to ask for Arimidex, but my last score does not justify it. This is the chart I have made to give him when I get there.

Date Rx Dose Testosterone, Total Testosterone Free
    8/7/2009 N/A N/A 273 (280-1000 ng/dL) 11.9(8.7-55 pg/mL)
    8/14/2009 N/A N/A 205 (280-1000 ng/dL) 9.4(8.7-55)
    9/10/2009 Androgel 5G 258 (280-1000 ng/dL) 9.0(8.7-55)
    10/4/2009 Androgel 10G 484 (280-1000 ng/dL) 21.4(8.7-55)
    1/19/2010 Test En 200mg/2wks 364(300-1080 ng/dL) 93 (47-244)
** Androgel ** Did not feel any relief from symptoms while on this medication and had concerns about transfer to my children and wife.
** Testosterone Enanthate ** Experience positive response to the medication for approximately 9-10 days and then feel a crash-type effect that is as bad or worse than not being on the supplementation at all.

** Testosterone Enanthate ** Have concerns of the testosterone aromataziation to estrogen due to symptoms of gynecomastia (sensitive nipples, pea size lump behind nipple).

So what additional tests should I be asking for in the morning? My Rx says I am to get a shot every two weeks but I have been doing 1/2 dose every week. She I tell him this and request my new script be written this way?

Been around reading, and waiting for this appointment to come. I am really nervous about it. Just imagining this doc not writing me a rx. Then I will be screwed. I am going in expecting the worst and hopefully I will be surprised.

The other thing I have been readin up on is adrenal fatigue. Is it common to have low test and adrenal fatigue. I have a lot of those symptoms too. Think I may ask for the salive test.

Don't sweat it too much man. One step at a time. If this guy don't work, then off to the next.

Are you going to request an E2 (Estradiol) test?

Some docs are funny about their prescriptions. I've heard of some getting pissed if their protocol is not followed to the T (regardless if everything is working) and I've heard of some that are open to slight changes (in this case, it's great because TRT isn't common knowledge and isn't cut and dry).

Definitely been a rash of people lately with complaints and issues about their doctors. I don't quite get why there is so much variance in this field. It's all over the place with these docs, and this is why the Anti Aging Clinics are on the rise and charging a premium. If you talk to any AAC, the first thing they will hit on is how they can separate themselves from the basic GP who knows very little in this field, works by trial and error, and who only treats a patient's score; aiming for a ultra conservative number.

I had my appointment this morning and am rather pleased with the outcome. The doc seems to know quite a bit about the subject and is willing to hear my side. He rewrote my Rx for 100mg/weekly and gave me 11 refills. That is convenient considering I had to go back in to my old doc for each refill. I have to get bloowork done in the middle of June and will have a phone consult with him about the results. He wants to see me back in the office in six months.

He doesn't generally test E2 and gave me some reason, but I told him I would like to monitor and he included that in my labwork. He agreed to start at 100mg and see how that works and we could then move the dose up if needed. So he seems openminded and I think I can work with him.

I think its so funny that my GP said that they have to give me the injections, but this doc writes me a Rx for 12 bottles and sends me on my way. He must actually believe I am a competent person and can give myself the injections. Such a world of difference between doctors. I start with the lady doc that will only give me androgel because if she gave me testosterone I would 'grow breasts, testicles would shrink and be mean like the incredible hulk.' Go to the urologist who had no clue and thought I should come off of the medication completely, so they could do more baseline bloodwork. To the doctor that is like a scared child when it comes to testosterone, scared to give too much, too often and has to hold your hand through the whole process. And now I have an endo who doesn't seem to have his hea dup his ass like the previous three.

I think I have gotten really lucky with my doc. So far he has been open and receptive to everything. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't change!!

By the way can someone tell me how many posts I have to get to before I can create a profile on this board?

Good to hear it. Like I said, take one step at a time. The good ones are out there too, you just have to go through a little hell to find one.

Marine, go to your CP settings ... You should be able to do your profile. Sorry to interrupt the thread Buckeye.

Congrats!...So he wrote you a script for Test Cyp (or Enan) 100mg a week and wrote you 11 refills? This seems strange, because Test Cyp is a Schedule III drug and besides the initial prescription, it can only be legally filled 5 additional times. After that, a new script must be wrote. Is there a DEA# on the prescription?

I'm sure you're ok, but it's against the law for your doc.
