Muscle twitch??

Today I was injecting into my left quad..i inserted the needle and felt pain deep almost as if i 'hit' something.
I had to pull out because of the weird pain.

I retried and went deep again and my whole quad twitched severely. I was uncomfortable with that becuase it hasnt happened before.

I did my glute after that and everything went fine..Can anyone explain what the hell happened in my quad?
Has it happened to anyone else before?
