I'm almost 20 and was doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2-6 times a week, boxing 1-3 times, and wrestling 1-4 times when I got hurt training on March 22. Fortunately it wasn't a full tear. The recovery is proving to be much slower than I hoped and I want to heal and train so I can get back into competition. I just finished University and wanted to train full time (Twice a day plus weights or running or yoga for max 3 times/ day) and work part time until September. I'm also hoping to have my first Pro MMA fight this summer before I go back to school.
There's so much info on Steroids and now I'm really doubting whether to take them or not. I want to get bigger but I haven't had the discipline to stay on a consistent weight lifting program due to myself putting more focus on the BJJ. Right now I'm at just under 200 lbs at probably 15% body fat and would like to get to about 210, 215 and lower my body fat to appear more ripped.
I've also smoked a lot of ganja in the past due to depression and would say I was mentally addicted to it at points but I'd like to think I'm over that now. So my addictive personality is something that worries me about doing Steroids. Ie if it helps me recover and put on muscle now and win in competition that I will want to use it in the future to recover from injuries and give me the competitive edge.
Another concern is coming off the cycle. Will I really become that much weaker? Also I read about how steroids will weaken your tendons, should that be a concern for weight lifting, striking, and BJJ. Will I be susceptible to a tendon injury grappling?
The main reason I want to use the steroids is heal my lcl. If that means more time off for pure weight lifting and rehab exercises while on the roids I will do it. But do the ends justify the means for my case?
