    forearm pain!!!!!!

any of you guys ever have trouble with your brachiordialis on top of the forearm? mine has been giving me trouble for around a year now, a heavy cycle seems to make life easier but then the pain returns. its almost like shin splints of the arm, feels like the muscle is going to tear of the bone and its starting to restrict my lifts now. any treatment ideas? cheers

I have it only on straight bar curls. It sucks. musclescience has addressed it before I think. I have just let them heal by not doing stright bar curls and then once they are healed (takes forever) I went back to them but lighter. I initially injured them on a heavy cycle.

I have this pain aswell but only with straight bar curls and ez bar curls. Dumbells are gtg. A pair of wrist wraps actually helped me a lot.

If were all talking about the same pain, the one that sorta feels like shin splints in the forearms, I only get it when going too heavy on my bi's with barbell/ezbar curls, I usually just take a couple weeks off heavy weight and it goes away.

the straight bar curl pain hurts my wrists really bad..... but that different from my other forearm pain that I get with seated dumbell curls. It hurts the top of my forearm..... the side you see when looking at the back of your hand.....

All last month I was suffering from a swollen elbow that hurt like shit when I would even touch it and working out my tri's was pure hell. I did some research and found out that theres a steroid called kennalog (spelling?)that heals shit like that. I went to my doctor last month and got a shot of it in my elbow and it healed in two weeks!! Its some good shit, you should look into it yourself. gl bro

just jerk off with the other arm for a while

also try not doing any bicep excercises that only require using both hands at once. so no more straight bar curls

Yup, straight bar reverse curls is what gets me.. I've stayed away from those for a couple years now becuase of it. I actually went to a chiropractor and got shock therapy on the top of my forearm it was so bad..

I have suffered from the same thing, takes forever and a day to heal. Accupuncture was the one treatment that really gave me some quick and somewhat permanent relief.

I've never done accupunture but have always wanted to. I've done shock therapy, chiropractic adjustments, rolfing and massage. That's about it. Rolfing is intense as hell and hurts like an mf, but its good and really "untangles" your muscles and helps align you.

cheers guys, i can get off with doing close grip ez bar curls and hammer curls, stuff like shoulder presses on the lower part of the lift really affect it, upright rows and lat pulldowns are rough on it too. on my third ever cycle i was up to curling 27.5kg d'bells and it was after this cycle the prob began, have it nearly 2 yrs now, it went away on last cycle but not this one. may give the accupunture a try.

Preacher curls caused that pain for me. The pain stopped once I cut those out of the routine

Its caused by heavy weight during strait bar curls your just noticing the pain on other exercises that use the same muscle group. I had the same problem, it got to the point were i would scream when letting go of the strait bar after the set, the pain was awful. After a few months i couldn't take it anymore so i droped curls for two weeks and droped the strait bar(and ez bar) all together. I now use dumbells only and the pain has completly subsided. I am also getting better gains from the dumbells since i can isolate the bicep more precisely.

I tried acupuncture for my lower back and shoulder. I did 6 sessions and stopped because I felt nothing.

i get the same pain in my forearms. stretching really helped over time. both preacher curl and str8 bar curls still give me pain so i use my wrist wraps and it takes most the pain away from my forearms.....
