Good age to start a Cycle?

I am 25 years old and I am lifting seriously as of the past 4 years. I have been lifting since I was 15 in high school sports, but not seriously. My plan is to keep lifting until I plateu and can't make any further gains in my lifts and size.

I've read people say that 21 years old is too young to start a cycle so I'm curious what is an appropriate age to start.

    Thanks, Anything will help.

also a side note: I am thinking of doing a Tes - E, Deca, D-Bol cycle for my first cycle with low doses with 250mg a week for Tes, Deca and 35 for D-bol a day.

Your age is appropriate. Your experience isn't though. First cycle should consist of Test only. Oral kick start is optional.

Thanks man! really helps. What about the 250mg's? is that appropriate? from what I've been reading that seems to be a low dose.

Yeah, don't look at age only as a goal to start steroids. You need to look at it as when your age and body is ready.

G4R - I understand what you are saying. My goals are to stick with my lifting program for 4 - 6 more months. I am also trying to cut weight to lower my body fat. Currently I'm right around 16% body fat (I know right). So I want to try and cut 25 LB's until I start my first cycle. I will also need to change my diet because I am trying to cut weight right now.

I know how you stress diet during and before a cycle so do you have any suggestions on diet?

    thanks.

Welcome baseball player. I concur with Hawaiian. Your age is appropriate but you haven't been lifting long enough. If you start a cycle you're muscles will get strong fast. Your tendons haven't been exposed to such rapid gains and heavy weights yet. You'd be risking injury. Stay on course with your training bro. Good luck.

Sprint - What kind of time frame are we talking about? I am not trying to jump into a cycle. That's why I am asking questions now. Do you think 6 - 18 months? I have always heard that once you've hit a plateu is when you should start a cycle.

Also another problem is that with that BF your going to be dealing with more estrogen sides. You would be better off dieting and lifting hard for another year at least.

I lifted naturaly for 10 years first. Put on 60lbs of muscle. Food makes such a big difference. Get some help from someone here like gr4 with your diet and you wont believe the changes your body goes through just eating good.

When you hit a plateau, consider ALL options and variables before cycling. Perhaps altering your diet, changing your training routine, increasing volume, lessen your volume, increase your recovery time if it's inadequate, ect.

Before one should jump into a cycle, I would advise at least 3 years of consistent diet and training.

Baseball, there are many guys here, especially in the diet section that can help you get started in the right direction. If you want, I can help to an extent (I am in no way a diet expert and don't claim to be) get your diet started.

G4R - I know you said you're not an expert but can you either give me an expample or point me in the right direction. I'll give you all the stats I can.

Right now I am consuming 1500 - 1700 cals a day because my goal is to lean out and get down to 195-200 lbs. before I'd start to even think about a cycle.

but if you have an Idea about a diet plan for me to put on lean muscle once I've gotten to 1950200 lbs.

I agree with Hawaiian regarding lifting experience needed before doing any cycle. It takes a while for your connective tissue to develop. You can make great strides towards your goals if you get your diet and training in check. You're in the right place for that. There are more than a few people that are willing to give solid advice. Think of it as being a member of the worlds largest gym with nutritionists and strength/conditioning coaches here to help you out.

Reason being, this will give you more then enough time to experiment with different diets, a slew of training routines, learn how compounds work, and which compounds work well together, and how to deal with side effects if any shall occur. Not to mention, bring your BF down and build a proper/solid foundation to begin with.

^^^ Go check out this link. At the bottom of the thread I have posted a Daily Diet Template for you to use. Gather up all the foods you eat during the day, figure up all the macros (the ones I use on the template) and start a new thread in the diet section listing your diet foods and macros in the template form. Make sure you post up your current stats and your goals.

From there you will be put in the right direction. Now, it may take a few days to get your thread answered, or it may take a few mins, just give it time and try to be patient.

    Hawaiian Pride - Thanks

G4R - I read your link and when I have time today or tomorrow I will take your suggestion and post my daily caloric intake and break it down into proteins, carbs, and fats.

    thanks for being so helpful!
