B-12 and Script ?

I am wanting to do some b-12 shots again.

I am located in the USA and I see lots of stores online who sell it (funny though non seem to located here).

"Do i need a script?"

It's legal in the US. Otherwise look for horse suppliers in your area or on google and they will sell to you no problem. Plus its 1/10th the price to buy the horse ones, which are the same as human grade.

Maybe a stupid question but how would the Sublingual B12 compare to injection? I would think like most orals it's not as effective but???

Epinephrine absorption in adults: Intramuscular versus subcutaneous injection

We report a prospective, randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, 6-way crossover study of intramuscular versus subcutaneous injection of epinephrine in young men. Peak plasma epinephrine concentrations were significantly higher (P < .01) after epinephrine was injected intramuscularly into the thigh than after epinephrine was injected intramuscularly or subcutaneously into the upper arm. We recommend intramuscular injection of epinephrine into the thigh as the preferred route and site of injection of this life-saving medication in the initial treatment of anaphylaxis. The absorption rate with SC injection is constant and slow enough to allow a sustained pharmacodynamic effect (Wilkinson, 2001). Blood supply in the SC area affects absorption, so the more proximal the capillaries are to the site of administration and the more numerous the capillaries, the faster the absorption of the drug. All drug products cross capillary membranes at a faster rate than they cross other tissue membranes (Ansel et al., 2004).
While drugs may be absorbed quickly following IM injection, the absorption rate depends on blood flow at the injection site. Joggers, who have greater blood flow to their legs, may experience a much faster rate of absorption of a drug injected into the thigh than if the same dose were injected into another muscle (Ansel et al., 2004; Wilkinson, 2001). The absorption rate of an aqueous drug administered in the deltoid or vastus lateralis generally is greater than that following injection into the gluteus maximus (Wilkinson, 2001). Blood flow to a muscle can affect the absorption rate of drugs administered by IM injection. Decreased blood flow can reduce the absorption rate (DeWit, 2001; Perry & Potter, 2004). In addition, the decreased muscle mass of many older adults may result in faster absorption of drugs delivered by IM injection (AstraZeneca Oncology, 2003; DeWit, 2001; Perry & Potter, 2004). IM absorption of some drugs in infants and young children may be unpredictable due in part to insufficient muscle tone and vascularity of muscle tissue.

Bioavailability of hCG after intramuscular or subcutaneous injection in obese and non-obese women



BACKGROUND: Obese women require higher gonadotrophin doses for ovarian stimulation and to trigger ovulation. The bioavailability of a drug is affected by its route of administration. Herein, the bioavailability of hCG was compared after intramuscular (i.m.) or subcutaneous (s.c.) injection in obese and non-obese women. METHODS: Twenty four Chinese women, 12 with a body mass index (BMI) 28 kg/m2 and 12 with a BMI of 20–25 kg/m2 were recruited as the obese and non-obese groups respectively. A single hCG injection was given intramuscularly on one occasion, and subcutaneously on a second occasion, separated by 4 weeks. Blood samples were taken at intervals for the pharmacokinetic study of hCG. RESULTS: Examination of the hCG plasma concentration–time curve showed the area under the curve (AUC) and maximum concentration (Cmax) of hCG to be significantly higher after i.m. injection than after s.c. injection in both the obese and non-obese groups. However, the AUC and Cmax values in obese women were significantly lower than in non-obese women, irrespective of whether i.m. or s.c. dosing was employed. CONCLUSIONS: Intramuscular dosing of hCG provided better bioavailability than s.c. dosing, but bioavailability was significantly less in obese women than in non-obese women.

No not delt! absorption rate is very slow

SubQ should be done aroun the stomach (not within 2 inches of belly button) and upper thighs. That is where there is the most blood floor.

yes but i am a ***** with needles lol.. First time i did delt IM with a 25g...

Like the studies i posted above stated, it all depends where the IM and subQ injections are administered. IM in the quads will absorb faster than anywhere else, subQ or IM.

One study above was specifically for hCG and showed that IM was much faster than SubQ.

I told my buddy this today...and he told me that its illegal to possess injectable b12 without a script.

I called the local pharmacy and they also said i need a script.

Now, here's the sticky point...i ordered the stuff a few weeks ago
(without knowing that i was illegal without a script) and it is being shipped to me in my state.

I don't want any trouble over something as stupid as b12 and it seems crazy that the government would try and come after someone for 2 bottles of b12...but with this government we have now...i would not put it pass them.

Am i being Paranoid?

What should i do?

Any constructive advice is greatly appreciated.

You will be fine. They are not worried about someone getting b12.

You should have just gotten it from ar-r. They are located in the US so it won't go through customs.

It is just a vitamin. I can't see how it is a controlled substance. Expecially since you can just go to the store and buy it in oral right off the shelf. If you are that worried about it, go buy some 1200mg tabs and take two of them every few days. Your liver will break down about half leaving you with about 1000mg or so for absorbsion.

I personally just know I can feel a B-12 shot much faster but in the end the effect should be about the same.

Wierd part is a few years back I tried to buy some injectable B-12 from the Wal-mart pharmacy here in Canada and the pharmasist treaded me like some drug addict and was extremely rude to me. I even told the store manager that it was outrageous.

Now I just order it and pins online for convience. (from Canadian sites)
