Berkley - WTF??

I heard this morning that Berkley is planning a gathering on campus to honor 9/11 victims with the following conditions.

1. The Star Spangled Banner will not be allowed because it is too patriotic.
2. God Bless America will not be allowed for the same as above and also because it contains the word GOD.
3. The participants will be only allowed to wear white ribbons because using red, white, and blue would be too patriotic.

Can anyone explain the thinking behind these descisions?
