Had been taking Dutasteride throughout and a few months prior to an 8 wk cycle of cypionate. But my hair is still noticably thinner than it was before my cycle. Is this hair gone for good?

hair loss (thinning, receeding hairline) due to steroid use or bad family genes is caused by to much dht, anyway you probably know this
dutasteride(avodart) or propecia is a commitment to see results usse the product for 6months , 1yr to see if the drug has benefited you at all,
while using propecia or dutasteride you will experience shedding, but than after that you should start to notice results, shedding can last anyway from a week to months depends on the person
also get on rogaine and nizoral shampoo to help thicken the hair ... But defitnately stay on dutasteride because any hair regrowth from the drug will be lost once you stop using the product
i have been fighting hairloss since age 22 i have done 3 test cycles,
current age 24.,,

Stay on the dutasteride, good chance that mane of yours will thicken back up.
Yeah, will stay on the dut. I'd hit a nasty shed well before starting my cycle. But stuck it out till shedding stopped. So I'm pretty sure any thinning I've experienced lately has all been due to the test.
I'll stick with it for at least a few more months. That'll put me at around a full year of usage. Was using Fin beore that. Maintained well, but no regrowth.
Dut is a nasty drug though. The shedding gets pretty extreme and it zapps all the DHT out your system, which might keep you from losing hair, but it also robs you of a LOT of energy. Months 2-3 were crazy. Always tired. And mental fatigue was absurd. I was like a walking zombie.
I'm sure I would've lost more hair on my cycle without it though. Hopefully it'll help grow it back.
IDK, personaly.. I'm at the point in my life where being concerned about wehther or not I have hair is low on the priority list... with my own recent health complications and other life events going on... I'm happy to be working towards getting healthy again and training in the gym and on the mat again... I guess it takes something crappy like what happened to me to put things in perspective.. I'm much more interested in different things than before I was injured...
I just keep telling myself bald is beautiful...;-)
I have had the opposite experience. I keep my hair short, but not shaved. I have been on 500mg/wk on test e. and my hair(facial, head, pubic, and body) has been growing more and faster.
Is this unusual?
Actually isnt it your facial hair and body hair grow thicker while on test? Dht i think only goes to your scalp, which causes the thinning/balding. I may be wrong though.
The skin and prostate have the most DHT receptors of any places. Total body hairgrowth, thick facial hair, bigger pores, oily skin, acne, and balding are all due to this. The scalp is the only place you will loose hair and there are so many DHT receptors there. Your immune system will actually start to fight hairgrowth there if you genetically have alot of DHT receptors there
i used finasteride whilst on test and have baldness on my mums side and i had no problems with hairloss at all. I started taking the finasteride on the day i started the test and stopped taking it the day the test left my system ( 14 days after last injection).
Whats all theia about, when you start the finasteride you will experience a shedding phase????? i didnt have this and have never herd of it before. surely ppl use dht blockers to stop hairloss!! so why would they take it if it was going to cause a shedding phase??? im confused!
all your hairloss questions can be answered on hairlosstalk.com there is a forum for shedding, finasteride use and rogaine use....
Definitely go get some finasteride.
I am prone to hairloss and have been fighting it since i was 21. I am 30 now and since 22 i am running finasteride at 1mg ed. Thinning and shedding stopped, but no regrowth since my mpb is in the front. I have managed to "survive" my last cycle which was test prop/ tren ace/ winny at decent dosages using the following protocol:
finasteride - 2,5mg ed
Spiro 5% cream once a day before bed
Nizoral 2% once a day
Try this. Spiro 5% cream protects you against any type of hairloss, but its usually ran during cycle only, because off cycle finasteride/duta does the job.
I was takin duta and I never really saw much...I recently dropped it. May add it again if I noticed more shedding.
I seem to shed with or without duta.
I think all that stuff is a waste of money.
I was taking it for about a year and a half....didnt notice much difference.
The only hairloss you will see are only in regions that are susceptable to DHT influence... IE: the top of your head. The other follicals don't respond to DHT.
Solution, stick with what you got, but add in Propecia.
NEAT TRICK:
Get a perscription for Proscar (prostate meds)
Thus making it NOT cosmetic
Thus making your insurance cover it
Then cut it into 1/4ths with a pill cutter from walgreens
you then have 4 propecia pills 1.5x stronger than the regular propecia.
Proscar = Propecia (x5)
Frankly if you're prone to baldness you ought to just STAY on propecia, ESPECIALLY when you're on a Test cycle cuz of all the extra DHT you're gonna have floating around.

I'm still a little confused. I have been running test enth for 4 months now and I havent seen anywhere if the hair that I'm losing will grow back. There is no history of hairloss in my family on either side but i have been losing a lot of hair in the front. Its noticeably thinner. Will this hair grow back later? Propecia is prescription only right? What kinda dr. do I go to and do i just tell him im going bald and want propecia? Would I benefit switching to a different steroid that wouldnt have the same effect?
Curious to know if those of you who've used these hair replacement products have actually gotten satisfying results. I mean, do you re-grow a full head of thick hair? Or is it just a fuzz? I'm not talking about a little thinning but about huge blad spots that look real bad. What I've heard is that much of the new hair growth falls out if you stop using the product? Anyone ever tried one of those hair replacement systems that I've seen advertised in the late night infomercials? I know that wearing a wig is out of the question for most men, but those hair replacements ads on tv look very realistic.
