    Anyone ever had Botox?

Have a wrinkle straight across the middle of my forehead that is really annoying, not minor either.

No clue where or how it got there but I just noticed it recently.

Something must be done for my sanity and Botox is the obvious choice.

In Australia its about $300 for one site. E.G forehead

I have had it a couple of times. Last between 2 to 4 months. Mine only just lasts the 2 months so probably wont get it again. Each persons body breaks it down differently.

I get it on my forehead also. It works awesome and stops sweat on the forehead also.

I heard it should last for like 6 months, if I had to get it every 2 there is no way I would be doing that.

    Thanks for the info.

They said that to me to. Will last between 3 and 4 months. They might of even said 6 months I cant remember!

It only lasted about 2. When I went back in to ask they just said everyones body breaks down the botox at different rates and bad luck.

From the sound of it they claim 3 to 6 months but in my opinion what she said and what another doctor said it sounds like a line they use to rope you in. Realistic I think 3 months would be a good outcome for anyone.

Also it does depend on how much they inject. I didnt want the frozen forhead look so maybe if they injected more would of lasted longer!

    Botox

Generally from what I have seen with Botox, the average is about 3-4 months...I have it injected in my forehead, around the eye to give myself a somewhat younger look.

If you have any specific quests feel free to ask.

    Thanks Doc.

It is just the wierdest thing I am only 31 years old and just this one wrinkle right smack in the middle of my forehead. I t is only about 2.5 inches wide but it is DEEP. I can take 2 fingers and pull the skin on top and bottom apart and you can see how bad it is.

I don't know if I make a facial expression a lot that caused it or what but it is seriously noticable. I have heard of some people having bad sides but honestly I would deal with it if I could get this taken care of. If i was 45 I would not give a damn but I aint, so this is like a priority now.

Will botox fill in the deep wrinkles just as welll as the others? I mean maybe mine is not deep I don't know but when I get close up and try to pull it apart it sure looks bad.

Botox does not fill in wrinkles, it temporarily paralyzes the muscles under your skin that are pulling your skin into folds, or wrinkles. This causes them to relax, and stop pulling your skin. Botox injections in the forehead are usually between 12-20 units, depending on the person. In my case, I use 14 units and that lasts me for about 2-3 months. What was interesting is for the first 6 months I needed to go back every month, but now it's lasting longer. I've been told this is normal in some people. I'm under 30 as well, but I don't care. I have two wrinkles and I don't like them, so I get rid of them.

Another thing you can think of is to possibly use a filler (Restylane and Perlane are two that I can recommend). Perlane is used to help create fuller lips and to fill deeper facial folds. The other, Restylane, is more suited for the cosmetic treatment of finer wrinkles and more superficial facial folds and wrinkles however is more economical and works pretty good in my opinion.

You might check out infra-red therapy as well, the costs are much less, but results are mixed depending on your skin and the strength of their lamps.

    God this is depressing.

    Anyway this is the wrinkle....

And from what I have been reading first time it only lasts 3-4 months, but after that longer because you learn not to use those muscles repeatedly.

Not at 32, maybe around 40.

I know no one my age that has them.

I am now actively searching for a good dermatologist in my area but info that you do not have to pay for is hard to come by. Just need to do some digging I guess...

yeah i've been investigating a bit of this stuff n i am leaning towards restalyn (filler) as a) it lasts a bit longer (6-9months) and b) i cant imagine that just paralysing my forehead would actually make the wrinkle go away, like yours it's pretty deep (between my brows from scowling too much!!)

i'm in thailand and i recon i'm looking at about $400 to do my whole forehead (i have a small one) with a 1ml of restalyn.

Just googled restylane vs botox and some good stuff I am reading on it.

But why if the restylane lasts longer and is not as toxic does everyone get botox??

The difference seems to be that the restylane is a filler, while the botox deactivates the muscle. I would much rather have the filler and not have to worry about my expression changing.

I would have no problem spending $400 if it lasted at least 6 months (from what I have read it could last a lot longer, up to a year). I would do it tomorrow. Need more info first.
