Better strength soon after calorie restricted diet

How come after a calorie restricted diet, strength seems to increase fairly quickly? Is there a hormonal reason?

If your restricting calories your restricting your energy which is going to have a negative effect on your strength, food is the most natural anabolic stubstance you can take so restricting it will cause a reaction and things will suffer.

Sounds right to me. from what i gather the body is most Anabolic after being Catabolic. for example after a pro diets down for a show they seem to break plateaus and blow up right after when they start there bulk. Almost like a prime. . .

Thats what I'm wondering, but they may not actually be stronger than they were before the diet....The blowing up part is likely just water.

I've never experienced anything but a strength decrease from a calorie restricted diet.

Is this not the concept behind "slingshot method," just trying to better my grasp of the terms.
