tracking?

I am trying to track my order on usps but it says there is no record of this item. I tried the order number as well as the shipment number but neither have a record. The order says complete on the website so I don't see what the problem could be. Anyone have any ideas? I have used the site before and I know its solid so I am not knocking it, just wondering if it is possible they accidently gave me a faulty tracking number or something.
