Cheapest way to get enough protein to build

Hey guys I wanted to ask how you are able to afford to eat the protein you need to gain lean mass. I currently have been at the same weight for a few months now because it seems I can't afford to stick with a clean enough diet to gain any more mass. I do supplement with protein powder quite often but I understand that isn't the only protein source I should be eating.

Also, how are you able to physically consume the nutrients that you need I sometimes make myself sick trying to eat enough to gain.

Thanks. Any ideas on how to increase appetite. Yes, I do understand the stomach will stretch over time but my problem is the more I bump up the protein the fuller I remain throughout the day.

Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club, etc. I get ALL of my food from these places, it just makes sense to buy in bulk since we basically cook in bulk.

Appetite - there's a thread floating around on this. My suggestion would be to just do it slowly, and as you said, your stomach will stretch to accommodate the additional food. You will not continue to feel full for very long, I promise. I started to get hungrier after bumping up calories!

Get a Sam's Club membership and stock up on egg whites, chicken breasts and tuna. The chicken is pretty cheap there, so is the tuna fish. And at under $6 you can get 40 egg whites!

I do have a Costco membership but its over an hour away which sucks. I do follow your advice already to a certain extent I was just curious if there was anything I was missing as our diets can get boring at times. Maybe I will try buying bulk eat whites rather than just eggs and switch to store brands to save money.

Raise chickens and rabbits in your backyard. It is cheaper to produce the eggs and meat yourself than to pay somebody else to do it.

Haha I actually have chickens in my backyard I just can't kill them or I go to jail. The island I live on is just like Key West where they just roam around!

BigBuck6, I am not trying to start a debate here, but I bet you can kill them, so long as it is done humanely. Have you carefully researched the ordinance at issue? Go to municode.com to read it for yourself and do your own study rather than relying on what some clerk or undereducated police officer tells you. Most of the time they do not know what they are talking about, and you will even get different opinions from different government employees. If it turns out that what you say is true, and there is no way around it, then go to your councilman or commissioner and get the law changed. I get laws changed all the time where I live, even sometimes after a politician tells me "That will never happen" the first time I approach. Polite persuasion works wonders over time.

I suppose if yours are layers, you can at least get eggs, but eggs are so cheap nowadays . . .

You may be right to be honest but I don't personally want to go there. A local policeman's kids were chasing and killing them and a neighbor of mine called out the newspaper and media. I suppose what I am saying is while legally I may be able to do something old retirees are quite annoying and I really do not want to get into that drama. Those chickens are really annoying though at 4:30 in the morning crowing nonstop til around 9am.
