I posted in the new year about really nasty sides(joint pain, horrible skin issues, anxiety) I was getting from HGH(both 1 IU and 1/2 IU a day), which caused me to stop. Turns out this was related to subclinical adrenal insufficiency which was made worse by the HGH,since it lowers cortisol still further. This is not a condition that is recognised by mainstream endocrinology, but alternative practitioners may use hydrocortisone to supplement insufficient endogenous cortisol. Hydrocortisone supplementation is not without its risks--at sufficiently high doses that may be warranted for symptom relief, it may cause atrophy of the adrenal glands. There's also the risk of osteoporosis.
I notice that there is a peptide called Hexarelin which is not only a secretagogue of HGH, but stimulates ACTH and cortisol. Does anyone have any information on the use of this peptide for this purpose, or any other substance that might have the same effect? Has anyone else had adrenal insufficiency 'unmasked' by using HGH?
I believe my problem stems from the pituitary and is not an adrenal problem, hence the conviction that higher levels of ACTH would actually case a rise in cortisol.
