diet and cardio is only way to burn fat. eat every 2-3 hours and do alot of cardio in your target heart rate and if healthy enough use a good fat burner like lipo6

Just eat right and do cardio, like everyone says. Diet is the most important part, because it doesnt matter how much cardio you do if you eat like crap. But at 25% BF you could cut alot of that off pretty quick just by eating clean and working out hard. It takes alot of discipline and motivation to stick with it. Took me a year just to lose my excess weight and about 5 years of lifting now to change how I looked.

But i warn ya, once you start seeing results that you like, it becomes an addicting habit and turns into a lifestyle! If I miss a day at the gym I really beat myself up over it, psychologically.

See ya in the diet section.

Agreed with all the above post.
A couple of key facts. #1 Dont try to make to much of a change to fast. This burn most people out.
#2 Dont expect results overnight. Dont get disappointed when you hit a plateau either, the first part is typically water weight; fat takes a little longer.
#3 and maybe most important; as noted above. Eat every 2-3 hrs, at least 6x a day. This will change everything but it takes a ocuple of months for your body to get use to it and jump into fat burning mode but once it starts look out.

Lots of little things can make a big difference. Instead of driving or public transport, walk everywhere (within say 45 mins walking distance). Totally give up junk food for the first 4 weeks (1 cheat day thereafter per week). Double gym sessions (cardio am, weights pm). No alcohol (many dont realise the amount of calories in alcohol alone).

Of course add to this a calorie controlled diet that is roughly 500 cals below maintenance levels and trust me, you will start seeing the waist line shrink after 2 weeks.

When you start dieting its like standing at the foot of Mount Everest and thinking ' how am I ever going to get to the top of this massive mountain'.
Once you crack this diet thing by working out the macros(and doing a load of cardio) its like taking a cable car to the top and looking down from the top of everest and saying 'that was easy, what was all the fuss about?'

Just keep chipping away at the cardio, keep modifying and adjusting the diet , meet all your daily and meet your weekly targets, it wil all drop into place, try not to focus on the summit of everest, focus on the little steps on the way to the top.

You might want to get your bf% checked so you are starting off with a realistic outlook..No offense but at 5'11" and 265 you most likely are higher than 25% bf either that or you are pretty frikkin huge already...
I walk around at about 220-230 and am 6'1 1/2" with at least 20-25% bf and I am fairly muscular..mostly beer fat on lower back and lower stomach.heheheheh...Like everyone else has posted, go to diet forum and post up your diet for review..Good luck...

Actually, contrary to popular belief, recent studies have shown that for most people, eating 3-4 meals/day is actually more beneficial for weight loss than 6-7. Recent studies show that even though eating several meals/day does allow better nutrient timing, and a slight metabolic increase, those benefits are normally overpowered by a mindset that "grazing"inbetween meals is okay. This mindset develops from the thought that, "since eating 6-7x/day is good, then 10-14 would be even better", which rationalizes eating when one shouldn't.

Also, eating 3-4 meals/day is much easier to keep track of then double that amount, and the feeling of satiety is greater since the portion sizes can be increased. To each their own, but I personally have experimented with several different strategies and for me, eating 3-4x a day is not only easier(due to constant studying and keeping my family taken care of), but I can keep all my macros in my head, which is doable with 6-7 meals, but I am bound to forget one or two things, and that can break a diet.
