    Movie Reviews...

The Debt - Moderately engaging first 30 mins, then it turns into a sleeper w/more of the same (had to leave). Unless you’re vested in the holocaust take a pass.

Columbiana – As good as advertised, and THANKFULLY no they don’t repeat, “Never forget where you come from”, throughout the movie as they do 12x in the trailer. Great action, good dialogue, well written and engaging throughout.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark – Interesting enough not to call ‘Whack’! Poor dialogue, subpar acting though Katie Holmes was decent in it. If it’s your flavor I grudgingly say you’ll probably enjoy it, else be very afraid of the dark and pass.

Conan the Barbarian – Sorry, I can’t revisit CLASSIC Arnold films. I passed on this one based on GP (general principle). I am however looking forward to the remake release of Total Recall complete w/updated technology.

Our Idiot Brother – Not your typical idiot movie, this one delves into the depths of family dynamics in a rather serious though often comical (occasionally hilarious) fashion. It’s a good one to take your lady to see.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes – Just couldn’t pull myself to go see this one, though the CG seems promising, I was warned on good authority against it.

Apollo 18 - Still on my list of possible piggybacks, depends on how long it lingers in theaters.

    COMING SOON

Contagion - Star studded with a top notch trailer!

Straw Dogs – Undecided! How many times do I really need to see someone other than Mccauley Culkin defending their home from intruders? Although seeing James Marsden, a.k.a. Cyclops get tough w/o his eye beams in the company of cute Kate Bosworth may get the best of me as a free piggyback/multiplex second movie.

Killer Elite – Can’t wait for this! Statham, De Niro, and Clive Owen as highly trained assassins…nuff said! 9/23 – BE THERE!

SPEAKING OF STATHAM --- I just saw a pretty good straight to Netflix/DVD movie with him called ‘Blitz’. Put it in your ‘Watch Instantly’ queue. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810217111/info

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – Ethan Hunt and the MI team are back! Nuff said, you know if you like them or not!

I wouldn't go that far. But yes, well worth the watch imo. CGI wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and gave some interesting insight into a modern beginning of the Apes.

    Go see it, Magic!

I saw this a few years ago...pretty hardcore in some parts. I hate this trend of remaking old movies, come up with your own damn ideas!

And to the OP...I also refuse to see remakes of Arnold films...what a disgrace.

Really...when are we going to get over MMA? It's almost "professional wrestling" at this point.

yeah, i think they only got the UK television ban lifted within the last 5 or so years. very good film, they just cant seem to make thrillers like that anymore, its all fvckn childish CGI, boring.

yeah k-1 is all stand up, more exciting imo than that bit rolling around and grappling (not to lessen the skill of it btw), it just bores me. never heard of retspo

Rise of the Planet of the Apes has bee the best movie I have seen this year. Looking forward to a sequel even though I know it is the end of humanity as the plot develops.

I'm not a big CGI fan. A good storyline and script will beat special effects anyday in my book.

Looking forward to Killer Elite and Django Unchained.
