never was a fan of chargers. I liked the challengers more.
i want to get another old car someday.
I like the Chargers and Challengers a lot. I would probably be predictable and get an old Mustang fastback or late 60s early 70s Camaro first though.
Those old cars take some care though. I have a '72 that constantly needs maintenance. Next is the throttle cable and air conditioning hoses.
As much as I like the old cars, they just don't make good daily drivers. No ABS, air bags or crush zones. Add a lot of horsepower and it constantly tries to kill you. :-)
I have to say I like the Modern Corvettes they are tres cool![]()
all the wannabe thugs buy the charger. never did like it even when it came out. all the hip hop people copied each other and they all just kept buyin em. i think its funny when people soak this stuff up that they feel gives them some kind of social status. the 300 as well. i like the challenger but it is also really big right now . since i see them constantly it would kinda take away the personal enjoyment.
Rented the Challenger recently.
A lot of fun! love the looks of it.
Big car, but on the inside kinda less roomy than what it appears.
Nice sound. But very "plastic" on the inside, cheap buttons and panels and such.
Makes you realize you´r just sitting in a plain old Chevy/GM /Chrysler in the end. The cheep feel.
Then I swapped for the new Camaro. Definitely cooler on the inside with a cool heads up display.
But when I stepped on the gas, I realized they had given me a 6 cyl.
I didn´t bother swapping again.
Before this I rented the Corvette....cool!
But in the end, nothing beats the feel of German.
The old cars are also reliable because of their simplicity, but my car is 40 years old. Rubber parts need replacing (like the hoses for my AC system). My throttle cable is braided steel, but it is 40 years old. Mostly it is the parts that just wear out with use: throw out bearing, clutch, pumps (water, fuel, oil), window regulators, switches, plug wires, etc.
The things that need the most maintenance are things that aren't stock. A 550hp motor puts stresses on a car that weren't planned, and things in a high state of tune require more work. I am sure it would require less work if it was, say, a stock V6 Mustang.
I work in finance at a Dodge dealer and the chargers are okay, the 392 Challenger is disappointing, the Manual is better than the auto (of course) but either way, very disappointing for the amount of power they produce.... I would never buy one. I'm a big fan of the new Chrysler 300's.... thats what I drive and love it, the headlights are just deadly too! 2011 300c AWD
congrats. bro. make it june 30th its my b-day
nah... we wanted to do it on a Friday, cuz no one ever does a Friday wedding.... most of my friends usually need 2 days recovery anyways, so it will work out for the best....
Who else has gone missing? I noticed D7M hasn't been on since the beginning of August... anyone else of importance?
Yah, at 470HP the challenger should be able to scare you and it doesn't even come close. With traction controlo disabled if you get it going sideways, which isn't hard... the computer still kicks in and corrects itself, which is complete Bullshit! The charger is the same deal. I understand why they do that.... they can't have a bunch or redneck idiots out there in 470hp killing themselves so they limit the car no matter what.
Driving a Z06 corevette is scary and I like it!! Even a normal C6 vette is 10 times the car the challenger and charger are.
