    fvcking shitty timing

I spent a ton of cash this month moving and getting furniture. Plus i had a wisdom tooth pulled last week.
My attorney i have from a car accident i was in calls me and the other lawyers want to meet up next week to negotiate a settlement. but its in Texas. I dont have the $ for an airline ticket this short of notice and the settlement going to be between 15 and 20k.

He says if i'm not there they wont settle,
I might get out on the corner tonight fvck

cc's are maxed from when i was unemployed.

i hate asking to borrow from a friend or relative. I'll try and scrap it from someplace else first. I emailed my lawyer to see if he will buy the ticket and take it from the settlement. I havent heard back yet

There is absolutely no way your attorney would not buy you an airline ticket - he stands to make between 6 and 8 k on 20 ..plus it can be arranged that you even repay him for the ticket cost.

This would be a good idea!

It's definitely in your lawyers best interest to make sure you're there. He's probably already got the ticket for you!

    Mates,
Most attorneys in these low $$ settlement cases do not work on contingency, but instead, on retainer. If this is the case, the attorney already has his fee. For an attorney to work on contingency like you see on TV, there has to be a potential for a sizeable settlement and/or a very good chance of winning. I'm betting the retainer was something like $1,500 up front. Small time attorneys don't have the pockets or resources to not get paid up front.

    How much is the ticket?

    make u a deal.
    I´ll pay for the ticket.
U pay me back 2x the $ if and when u receive your settlement, regardless of the settlement amount.

I hate asking to borrow money off of friends as well, im too proud for my own good, but in this case I think asking a friend for a sub is warranted as this is a pretty big deal, and im sure YOU would do the same for a close friend who was faced with a similiar situation?

    the case is on contingent.

i was driving my car and made a right turn with the green arrow. A person ran the red light and hit me.

They only have a 20k insurance policy so thats why i would get less then i or the lawyer wanted.

The ticket is cheap only $250. Just had my wisdom tooth and rent this week. So it was just bad timing.
