Can I get some educated views on B-12 shots? What is the deal?

Obviously i've heard of B-12 shots... but i'm curious as to what they do? Is this considered an actual steroid or just simply a supplement? If so, why not take it in pill form?

B12 is an essential vitamin. Some people can be deficient in it and develop something called pernicious anemia. Taking a shot gives you a higher amount of B12 than what you can get in a pill and is usually what you doctor would give you if you had a low level of B12. Also, some people don't absorb oral B12 well because of taking antacids or other reasons so they benefit from a shot too. It is found in practically every multivitamin there is and it is abundant in vegetables.

If you eat plenty of vegetables you likely don't need to even worry about supplementing with it at all. Some people believe that more is better and take it daily. I've seen some people talk about supplementing with it while on cycle. There aren't any studies proving it's beneficial in people without a deficiency but it's very cheap and pretty much harmless since it's a water soluble vitamin so it's not a big deal if you take it and don't need it.

I wasn't going to take it... but my Endo did test for it, and i've heard people talk about using it in shot form. I just wasn't sure of the purpose of it.

Have to agree on this one. Although, I don't get nearly as much increased appetite as some suggest, the overall good feeling and energy does wonders. I've been including B12 shots with my AAS since I've started, typically pinning 250mcg twice a week, or 150mcg every other day (AAS esthers determining shot frequency).
