are needles illegal ?

i quit using gear (long story) and i have a trash bag full of about 300+ needles.. they are pre packaged.. i think i got them from lion awhile back


i dont want these in my home anymore and i want to get rid of them.. i dont know if they are illegal or not to carry around or not. because i want to take them to the nearest dumpster and just get rid of them


im really paranoid that on my way to the dumpster im going to get pulled over and arrested or whatever..

so whats the legality of needles?

and what should i do with them i want to get rid of them?

nothing illegal about having pre-packaged needles. Even if you were pulled over you can say you found them on side of the road and was on your way to dispose of them.

you can bring them to any medical facility and tell them you found them on side of road and you didn't know what to do with them.

i appreciate the response but are you sure of this?

im 21 and just got on probation (for a dui) and im really paranoid and cannot be breaking any laws.. i was thinking that having 300 needles would be "intent to sell"

They are not illegal , they are not medical waste since they are new, you really have nothing to worry about. If you want the quick way out make sure they are safely packaged (in boxes or some other container so that they will not represent a stick hazard to some poor bloke handling them) then just put them in the trash either your own or the nearest apartment buildings, if you use a commercial dumpster you may get busted for illegal usage of someone elses dumpster.

On the other hand you can probably donate them to a hospice but somehow I doubt you wanna go that route.

If they werent so cheap I would say send them to me. LOL NO they are not illegal. Find a drug facility where the do needle exchange and donate them, just drop them off.

Some areas the laws do differ so I would check your local law for sure.
It's a SHAME to throw these away. Maybe a friend or someone you could
give or sell them to?

its a lil bit of a gray area... around here if u get caught with them they can be considered drug paraphanalia.. unless u have this lil pamphlet given to u by the pharmacy that u get ur needles from then they are considered medical use..

Damn I just flew 2 days ago, it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Does it count if it was not your own hand? I was traveling with my significant other. LOL
