Blood work done: Prolactin is high?

The results indicate 24.5 with a range of (4 - 15.2). What does this mean; I only know it somehow related to hormones, etc. And yeah, I'm a man who isn't lactating

Testosterone = 625 (348 - 1197)
Free Testosterone = 17.8 (8.7 - 25.1)

That's definitely a milk making score! Just a couple of questions ... Can you tell us your stats, and did you check your estrogen, specifically estradiol (E2)? Have you been using any Nor 19 compounds like Deca? I know, that's three questions ... I'll probably have more.

Stats: 38, 5'10, 165. They didn't test for estrogen, but just about everything else it seems. I haven't taken any steroids yet...so I don't know.

1st thing 1st, I would think this would warrant your doctor to take an MRI of the pituitary region, and rule out an adenoma, other mass, and/or other conditions/disorders associated with this condition. There are some good dopamine agonist medications to help reduce the prolactin, but your doctor needs to make a determination about your condition in order to move forward on this. Your answer rules out the Nor19 theory, something else is making it elevate.

Are you experiencing any of the symptoms like ED, or the ability to ejaculate? Could you also post other related panels like TSH, LH/FSH, Progesterone, and even growth hormone serum if available?

When talking to the doctor, ask him/her about cabergoline and pramipexole. Hopefully the culprit behind the elevated prolactin will be discovered.

At this stage, your free test looks great, so you don't need TRT.

If you're showing symptoms that you might have read are attributable to low test, consider that high prolactin will cause precisely the same issues.

An MRI is the perfect beginning point.

+1 to the pituitary MRI. Prolactinoma was my first thought, but test seems great which implies that LH is ok too.

Thanks for the advice. I have a referral from my primary to see an Endocrinologist, and push for the MRI.

Funny thing is that I went and saw another doctor (not my primary or the endo) who just prescribed me testosterone. He was talking about a patch and then 4 pumps of gel....then i get a call from the Combiner (i guess it's like a pharmacy) and was told that he prescribed 200 mg per annul (?) of testosterone. She said it was 200mg per day, which seems way too much!

Ill probably hold onto it until I get more info. Ideally, I'm thinking of getting HCG an AI and a PCT and do a proper cycle. I guess my comment is that it's scary what these Doctors are doing sometimes. Thank god for the Internet!

I'm curious, why did this other doctor prescribe you the testosterone? Your lab results look OK, so I'm curious what the diagnosis was. Yeah, the whole 200mg/day is screwed up ... Do yourself a favor and stay clear of it.

I would stick with the plan to get your prolactin issue figured out before anything.

Do you have ADD? high prolactin can be a sign of low dopamine, which is thought to have a part in causing ADD.

Def wanna get the MRI though, if you arent having any issues tho u may just be fine and thats how u normally are.

No ADD. I have an appointment in 6 weeks, so I'll look be looking for an MRI at that point I guess. In the meantime, I got this cream today from the pharm. Not gonna use it now, but I want to know what it is...and, really how this compares in dosage to what others are taking. What is the absorbtion rate as compared to injecting?
