Risks of Kidney Complications

I've been thinking about doing a cycle for about two years now, and have done a lot of reading in that time preparing myself. I'm just turned 33 and think I'm ready to commit to a cycle of test.

My one concern is that I have a history of kidney damage due to a birth-defect in my right kidney. However, I had a correctional operation when I was 12 years old and to my knowledge, have had no further complications and both kidneys are healthy and function properly, save for an impassible stone in my left. Despite this, my right kidney was damaged from numerous infections in my youth. Have kidney complications ever been reported from the use of just test? I understand that my kidneys may be under more stress than normal, but I still worry about alternative complications. Your input is greatly appreciated!

I am by no means a doctor but I am also pre-disposed to Kidney problems and when I did my first Test only cycles I did not experience any problems at all nor have I since then.

With your situation though, it would be advisable to discuss this with your family doctor or a specialist before proceeding to err on the side of caution.

If you decide to go through with cycling, it would be advisable to get blood work during your cycle to prove your kidney is ok.

Thanks for the feedback! I do plan on discussing this with a doctor if I can find one that will be honest and unbiased with me. I also fully intend to get blood work done before, during and after. But, I'm not even sure where to turn as far as doctors go.

I've never asked a doctor about it before. So I guess there's only one way to find out. I just don't want to get a lecture, lol!

I think you're going to have a problem finding a doctor that will be willing to openly monitor your usage. You'd have better luck going to one of those age clinics if you want to be open about it. You could indirectly have your doc run periodic tests on your kidney function without telling him why you want it. You probably should also be watching your blood pressure.

Agreed! I've been weighing them for about two years now I honestly think I'm healthy enough. My kidneys function properly and I have not had any kidney related issues since my surgery 21 years ago - except for the impassable stone that has never even caused discomfort. However, knowing that my right kidney was damaged, I want to be sure I'm not going to overly stress it out.

My girlfriend has told me she knows a good physicians assistant in a small town 45 miles away. She claims he will be honest with me and do the blood work.
