    Creatine and Keto diet?

    Hi,
I've been thinking about this combination for a while. Keto diet makes me lose water so quickly while creatine makes muscles to carry more water. If water retention is the reason why people get stronger while on creatine, what will happen if I combine both? Would it be useless? Will I still lose weight? Will I still feel stronger?

Just wondering, any thoughts on that?

water retention is not the reason you are stronger on creatine..
creatine will re-phosorylate ADP molecules into ATP which are used for energy, Your muscles only have enough ATP at any one time to support a full muscle contraction for only a fraction of a second, then you must enzymatically break down carbs to produce more ATP, creatine will create ATP as well which will refuel energy sources quicker and thus increase endurance and strength.

water retention is only a shitty side-effect

if you take creatine while on keto, which i would suggest ( i suggest creatine no matter what) you will lose weight and you will lose fat (assuming your diet is proper)

you will not feel stronger, not because of a fail on the creatine, but simply because you are running keto. but you should be better off with creatine then being on keto alone.

Correct me if I am wrong, I remember from my readings in the past that some newbies on low test cycles are advised not to take nolva during the cycle for the same reason, to retain more water thus be stronger. Off course they are advised to have Nolva on hand from the very beginning. You don't think there is relationship between water retention and strength?

I'd say it depends on where your bf is at. Anything above 15% you'll barely notice creatine effects anywhere. But when you get to low teens or Even under I'd drop it if loss of bf/looks was my main goal, which I assume since you're running a keto diet...

i dont know anything about gear and nolva so i cannot comment on that. water retention may help with strength, but creatine works by rephosphorylating ADP molecules, this is why it was selected for in animal evolution. it may not be as effective on keto but it will definitely make you more productive than if you hadnt taken it. i have also run keto w/ and w/o creatine and have noticed a difference.

I highly disagree with this, creatine is still effective with strength/endurance above 15%. I have been taking creatine for years and have just gotten below 15%bf for the first time in my life a month ago. i notice immense different at about 20%. I cannot see any biological reason why creatine is ineffective for fat people.

Congrates on reaching below %15 first time in your life. I have been always above 20% in the past 10 years and I can confirm that Creatine have always worked for me as far as strength. I always feel different when it starts kicking in.

Sure it works the same! I actually meant that you wont SEE like more water retention at that bf because someone with maybe 20%bf does not have too many cuts anyway.
I didnt mean to say it wouldnt work or you would Not Feel it. Of course that is not bf related
