New Female wanting to drop fat

Hi everyone!!! I am new here....

I am 38 and 5'2, I go between 170 and 180 pounds. I started weight training/ powerlifting when I was 15 and have maintained working out for majority of my life. I was diagnosed with PCOS which causes my adrenal glands to produce more testosterone then normal for a female I also produce high levels of estrogen.

So why I am throwing this out there??? well my issue is that I can gain muscle mass like crazy, but I can not lose the extra body fat. I am solid with a layer of what I refer to as insulation, lol. esp in the rear section. My endocrinologist told me that the only way for me to lose the fat is liposuction. This is due to estrogen saturation in the adipose tissue and insulin resistance. So I have been trying to find other ways to get rid of the fat.

My nutrition is on target. I eat very healthy and I train a lot. Right now I am doing more cardio. I swim two days a week and run the trails in the local foothills four days a week. This doesnt include my interval training.

I dont know where to start on this site, so any direction would be great

You might also want to confer with another doctor to see if there are any ways to control the abnormal hormonal balance. I am no doc but several possiblities to control the estro come to mind, now whether or not they are advisable, since they all have various interactions, only a doctor could say so it might be worth seeking another opinion.

    Ohhh yeah

    Welcome Curvy!

I really think the best thing to do would be to come on over to the Nutrition Forum and start a log there. This way the members can help you tweak your food just in case it needs some tweaking. I too am curvy and my new way of eating has helped me a heck of a lot. And in the right places! I am thrilled to say the least hence why I suggest you might do the same.

We all end up in the Nutrition section sooner or later!

Hope you enjoy the site. GLad you are here.

Unfortunately it's your high levels of estrogen that are going to hinder your fat lose. Don't get frustrated....just keep at it.
