    Help with Low T

Hey guys I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with low T(my T level was in the 200s)

My doc has prescribed me 200mg per week of injected testosterone cyp. I also am taking 1mg of arimidex ed. I work do 3 full body strength sessions low reps 3-5 with heavy weight. I cycle about 30 miles a week split between two days

Previously I had been working out with a trainer and was getting stronger but just could never cut much fat. Even under good dieting not great but good. I eat clean during the week and cheat a little on weekends.

That's when my doc checked my test and thyroid among other things

This cycle will last 10 weeks and I am hoping to see some fat loss I am 5' 8" and 198lbs at 22%bf

I am not trying to be a body builder or anything just would like to lean up and I am hoping by returning my t scores to normal (doc wants to see around 900-1000) after pct so another cycle may be needed

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am watching my food intake eating 200g protein a day from chicken lean beef and whey. Carbs come from brown rice and veggies. Good fats olive oil, fish oil. I cheat and eat out twice a week but keep the portions small.

I am in my third week of cycle now, advice anyone?

If you have low testosterone doing a cycle nor hrt followed by PCT will restore your bodies natural ability to make its own testosterone. You have a permanent medical condition. Taking testosterone will only reduce your bodies natural production even further. If you aren't committed to taking shots every week or two for life don't go this route. And for god sake, find a doctor that has a clue. Because if this is what your doctor believes he is incompetent and shouldn't be practicing medicine.

My endocrinologist put me on armour thyroid and my test levels dipped while on armour thyroid, this is why my doctor has now put me on a low dose of test with arimidex. Prior to taking armour thyroid I have always been in the 300-400s since I was about 22 years old.

Well that's too bad, well I also forgot to mention prior to my testosterone testing I had been taking codein for a knee sprain for about 3 weeks, which more than likely caused my test to drop since I was usually in the 3-400s.

After your cycle, your natty test level will be lower for a few months even if you do every right. A cycle lowers, not raises, your natural test. Your test will be higher during your cycle. At that dosage you may get around 800. You should really look at the TRT section of this site.

agreed, change doctors if he thinks 10 week cycle will regain your natural test levels, only thing that might be remotely helpful in this regard is nolvadex or clomid only cycle which will boost your testes into producing more natural testosterone( while you are on cycle only), but im still researching the do's and donts of this avenue myself. - it may "reset" your testes- not sure what permanant effect after you stop.

your doctor either hasnt explained what he is trying to do ( most of us cant work out what he is trying to acheive here) or just sucks at being a doctor.

what country did he get his doctorate from??

I hope you are not taking arimidex at 1 mg everyday.
1 mg per week would be more like it.
You definitely need a new doctor who has experience with trt.

You think you feel like crap with low T, 1mg a day of Arimidex will give you a whole new perspective on feeling like crap.

I am only taking the arimidex when my water retention gets bad, so half a pill 2-3 times a week, also after I do this 10 week 200mg test I will then be on clomid and hcg which I am understanding will help reset my test production. My doctor went to southwestern medical school in Texas he is not some quack he has done this before. I called him this morning and he said that my history of smoking Wd in college along with my recent knee injuries where I took codein probably lowered my test levels.

I never really felt like I had low t, I didn't have low energy or sex drive issues, just was having some trouble in the gym as far as fat loss goes. So far on the third week of taking test I am feeling pretty good definitely a boost in the gym.

I really appreciate all of your input I am always skeptical of doctors in general so it's always nice to get public opinion since none of you have a financial interest in me taking any sort of drug

Hope you aren't trying to have kids, because that will be out of the question while on T shots... And if your doctor told you it would help, run like hell! Like everyone has stated above, your natural test will be shut down.

Taking a synthetic test shot will shut down your body’s HPTA axis; so your LH / FSH will be trashed while you are taking shots. Since your LH is shut down, you body stops making test on its own, therefore, your sperm count will be reduced as well.

Also, if you went and saw the endocrinologist and he didn't give you T shots, then your general practitioner had no business doing so. Any endo doctor worth a darn will NOT give you T shots if you are remotely close to 300. 300 to most endo dr's is normal, because there are other things involved. You will need a free test number to get the true level. Also, it is a complex system conspiring of things like free T3, free T4, reverse T3 and reverse T4 and sex hormone binding glob. HPTA axis

If you are taking a thyroid med, like synthriod, and you have low T, have you had a MRI to make sure your pituitary doesn't have a small tumor or dark spot? I’m not asking to scare you, but it is a fact that 1 out of 4 people have a small microadenoma. It isn’t life threatening and is a simple surgery through you nose.

I’ve read that some Dr. believe that having low-T and thyroid issues are related, and I tend to agree with this because I suffer from this as well. Low T puts stress on everything else, which can flag your FSH (thyroid) as high, above 4.8, which really means low or slow producing. Endo doctors just do not like giving shots, because it takes 3-5 months for your body to rebound naturally.

I’m sure your doctor has told you the thyroid medication should help you lose weight… Diet and hard training will help you lose weight. Also, careful with all that protein when trying to cut weight. I’m not sure you need 200g a day.

Oh, and if you are trying to have kids, stay away from your general practitioner when it comes to test levels and things related to your upright organ, and find yourself a infertility urologist. Those guys can help you with getting items like Nolva and Hcg.

Had the thyroid checked and no tumors.

So if my level of test was around 300 after I do a 10 w
eek cycle of test with some arimidex every few days then a pct of clomid, hcg and arimidex I will end up still being in the 300s after all said and done? Once my body levels out.

    If you're lucky.
I would just go on HRT instead of trying some stupid cycling protocol.

Well I am 3 weeks in so I'll finish it, besides I'm taking a lower dose of test 200mg per week.

So are there any natural ways to increase testosterone?

Again thanks for all the input I really feel more informed now.

If you are being monitored by a doc then finish your cycle and do a PCT which is the HCG, clomid, nolva. This will restart your natural test level's. Then you can re-test after 6 weeks to see what your level's are. Also check your vitamin D level's as it can affect natural test.
