    Acidity and sickness

I read this information awhile ago and wanted to pik your brains to see what you thought.
They say that the more acidic your diet is, the more likely you are to get sick. Eating things like pasta sauce, lemon juice, etc. The theory is that viruses thrive in acidic environments. Has anyone ever heard about this?

    Mate,
your stomach is HIGHLY acidic in it's natural state! It has to be to digest the food you eat. Additionally, your stomach is MORE acidic that the foods you eat. So not sure how eating something that is less acidic than your stomach can make you sick? I'm not a doc, and this may not be a correct answer, but my "gut" (play on words) is telling me this! =)

If is my belief that the people slinging the acid/alkaline health people are full of crap. Mostly con men (con people?) either selling a product or book. You cannot change the ph balance of your stomach (let alone your whole body) for more than a few minutes.

Only because protein is acidic and the theory that higher alkaline levels are healthier for our bodies doesn't mean you can follow a high protein and high alkaline diet all at the same time.

Why do you think we advice people to eat as many vegetables as possible and drink well over a gallon of spring water throughout the day?
