    Just had neck surgery

Without going into crazy detail... I've been in some pain for a while... Severe nerve pain down my left arm... turned out i had a fully ruptured disc that was putting pressure on my spinal cord in my cervical area... I ended up having an Anterior Cervical Corpectomy (similar to a micro discectomy) with fusion of c6 and c7...

3 weeks prior to the operation i was running test/tren/mast/growth.. here i am 2.5 weeks post op on nothing obviously... Cant workout... and never looked worse in my life... i look like a soft fat fck...

Anyone ever go through a procedure like this? I'm super depressed with how i look and feel... Im stuck on my couch for 10 more weeks in this disgusting looking collar and they won't let me do shit.. luckily I've been able to keep the pain med to a minimum as i don't wanna go down that road at all..

Anyone out there ever been though this?? i feel like total and utter shit... and onto of it all had to sell every last bit of gear i had, as i have no insurance and needed every penny available... anyone know what I'm going through?

    I can only imagine.

probably important at this point to maintain your optimism, and not fall prey to depression.

I had a neck injury in the military. Funny story really, but i won't hijack your thread.

    heal quick mate!

I had a similar situation. My Left arm and both hands would go numb. Had a MRI and had a Nerve Conduction test. Turns out I have bone spurs in my neck and carpal tunnel both hands. I had the carpal tunnel surgery, doing well.

I'm holding off doing anything with my neck. My neck is pretty short as it is and I would rather not have it fused and make it shorter.

All you can really do right now is eat right and find a hobby. Reading, playing video games helps to keep your mind occupied.

To help cheer you up, when I had my carpal tunnel surgery. You have to wear a brace 24-7 for ten days. It's a little hard to wipe your ass with a brace on.

    Best of Luck!!!

Give it time to heal and you will bounce back. I have had 2 back surgeries and within 2 years after my last one I was in the best shape of my life. I am again starting over due to a recent shoulder surgery, 2 eye surgeries and a few other things. No reason to give up, they are just minor set backs.

Been there had fusion at c7t1 and replacement at c5c6. Get out and walk, put on your head phones and keep thinking positive. My dr recommended 20 minutes of walking 5 times per day for the first 5 weeks. My surgery fixed the pain in my hand and felt pretty dam good in about 3 months. Give it some time and don't try to rush back to the gym. Good luck

When you do get back to the gym avoid overhead stuff, really pay attention to your form. You probably will be limited on ab exercises as well, trying to hold your head off the floor while doing crunches is not a good idea. Leg lifts and bicycle kicks are okay. My surgery was over 2 years ago and I still have problems with ab exercises and trap exercises. Upright rows and shrugs will give me spasms every time.

During a cervical fusion they jack up the vert. and put a piece of bone in. So it makes the space between wider therefore making your neck longer. I gained a 1/4 in maybe a little more with my fusion and disc replacement.

A little more height is always good! Thanks for the info!
