trt impant pellets

I went to a new endo today. For there issues then trt. He is a well know endo and they also do trt in their office. So we were doing all my medical history and got to the trt. He asked my i liked injections over topical. But he also said there were implants. He made it sound like fina pellets for cattle. They impant them in your ass. I really didnt ask more about it since i was there for other reasons.

Has anyone heard of this?

I've got one friend on them. He says it keeps him in the 800's. I just don't know how long a "ride" it is at that level before it starts its downward slide...

I'm using the Testopel pellets now. I'm on my second set of implants. Total levels in the 800's range for the first 4-8 weeks. They decline slowly and at four months...I think I was in the 400's. I have a thread here somewhere titled "I've Been Pellitized".

Pellets have their advantages and disadvantages. There is no daily or weekly action needed on your part. The pellets last from 4-6 months for most people. Your levels will decline over time though. The procedure is rather graphic to look at, but there is almost no pain involved due to substantial amounts of lidocaine being injected at the site. The procedure is very costly unless your insurance covers you well. The implant site will be a bit sore for up to about a week.

I'm unsure if I will do a third procedure...but deciding that is about 3 months away.

Gixx. There have been a few threads on this issue.

Issue is this. Implants provide an unstable blood serum level. The rate the pellets dissolve, per surface area, remains constant. Yet as the pellets slowly dissolve, surface area is reduced, and therefore blood levels decline. this is my understanding of the issue.

but like anything else, pellet tech could have improved. I would discuss this with the doc and see what he has to say.

Obviously for AS injections are the way to go and also for trt if you can get them but most docs will only prescice topicals for trt. I've most recently been using Axiron(gel that goes on like a deoterant) Stuff sucks and is annoying to put on eveyday. I'm statring my first series of pellets next week. Not to thrilled about having these pellets implanted every 6 months for the rest of my life but my levels in the mid 200's and im only 34. i'll report back.
