Do you think someone can be satisfied as The Settler in a long term relationship / marriage? Just wanted to see opinions - discuss please

I read something on this a while back...if I remember right, one party is always the reacher and one always the settler. In most case the women settle for us men (I think thats honestly what it said)!

I dunno.... I don't think that humans are meant to be in a long term relationship in the first place.

dan this could go off on a tangent but im trying to refrain here. i am a bit curious as to why u think this and what do YOU think humans were "intended" to do as well as who did the intending???

I think that women are attached- men not so much. Its way too easy to get divorced nowadays; and people are exercising that option more often over stupid stuff as an "out" because what they pictured their long life mate would end up being- didn't turn out that way. Thus, you go seeking for fulfillment in what you think you want elsewhere. Some people take it to the next level and even switch teams. I have heard a few stories this year of guys married 10-20+ years; then coming out of the closet to their wives and revealing that they are gay. Each to his own, whatever makes you happy. I myself have relationship ADD. I'm good until I get bored and use to that person; then I move on. Keep me entertained (sexually) and I'll stick around. I have a lot of ex-girlfriends that I broke up with simply because I was bored with repetition. 20+ years of the same thing gets old sooner or later. It doesn't mean you don't like that person, don't have feelings for them, etc.; however "new and shiny" is always more fun and for me- I'm attracted to new and shiny.

WTH is a Reacher and Settler? Sounds kinda pioneer days to me.
