    Joint support supps

What joint support supplements do you recommend?

I'm currently having some knee issues (mainly due to squats) and I'm wondering if its worth investing in any joint support formulas. I'm currently taking 9000mg of fish oil also

    Thanks guys

5 grams of msm forever (inexpensive)
    HA powder taken orally (expensive)

and HA knee injections annually if the above two do not work

You've tried all of these and found them to be beneficial to you? Or are you simply copying and pasting from somewhere else?

If you are going to give advice, please make sure you have first hand experience.

And if you do, and these all provide relief to you, then my apologies!

    Respect!

I've tried just about every supplement known to man for joint support. None of them work.

I got some Anatabloc from a rep at work recently, so far I haven't noticed shit. Except for fresh breath. The rep claimed the shit will reduce inflammation almost entirely. My joints still hurt so this on the jury is still out on.

    Thanks for the responses guys

I guess I will start off on some MSM and work my way up if need be. Any other recommendations?

On days where I'm really hurting, I use Aleve.

that's a shame. I really preach MSM since I've found relief from it for the last 15 years.
I've resorted to oral HA powder, but it's expensive, and not really convinced it's effective since in afghanistan i only took it when the msm seemed like it needed a boost.

so HK, which joints are problematic for you?

    I have tried:

Univera "Regenicare"-It actually did work for me. Cost about $80 a month so I had to give it up due to cost. But again I did see results.

Reaction Nutrition "Reflex"-I was hoping it would work as good as regenicare, but fell short. Gave it a month, so maybe I needed to use it longer.

Univera "Regenicare"- is just MSM, chondroiton and glucosamine plus a few insignificant bells and whistles. $80/mo huh? No wonder the supplement industry is doing so well. Mate, my MSM is less than $1/mo.

the reaction nutrition reflex - same thing except add cetyl myristoleate which is a mild pain reliever and antiinflamatory.

Mate, the problem is when you buy hyped products ready made, you end up spending 20x more than if you just simply purchased the bulk ingredients and took yourself.

so the moral of the story, if you value the contents of your wallet, is determine what the active ingredients of these products are, and then try those. Unless you are financially well off and don't mind spending significant amounts of cash.

Well first and foremost the first couple discs in my back above and below the L1 and L2 discs that I had fused when I broke my back. When they hurt, they hurt. But also my right elbow and both knees get really sore especially on leg day. But yeah, 2 Aleve help a lot. The thing that helped the most for my back pain was working out. I used to go from one pain management clinic to the next because of it. And weight lifting has brought the pain down to a level where Aleve can handle it without the use/abuse of opiates.

the arthritas in my back is similar, although obviously not structurally damaged like yours. IF I continue to lift and keep my weight at or below 230, then very manageable. Currently, i'm 240 and my back is aching all the time. Which is why I seem to be hitting the aleve more often.

My family went to sacramento today to the lizard show. they wanted me to go, but standing arouund for hours only makes it painful and i get grumpy. So i declined. And my friggin gym is closed due to remodeling, so i ended up washing the dog and getting ready to head out the door to costco. fun day, huh?

I didn't pay for the Regenicare. That is why I stopped using it at the point where I would have had to. No reason not to try free samples.

I don't typically have a problem with how much I weigh affecting back pain. But then again, I spend most of my day sitting at a desk. The thing that hurts the worst is going to the park with my niece. I guess I'm just too old to be jumping off the jungle gym with her and running around like a 5 year old. I mean it's still lots of fun, but I end up paying for it every time.

Sounds like an exciting day. I got to spend mine watching football and baseball.

I am a fan of msm and gluco and chron.

however seeing its your lower back have you tried warming up and stretching at least twice a day. (very time consuming i know) also try hanging upside down from a pullup bar by your knees. it relieves pressure on the spin and give it a good relaxation/stretch (chiropractic technique)

I've been dealing with this lower back arthritas for over 20 years, even before i knew what it was. I've got the inversion table for hanging and it doesn't help. Everything I do may temporarily abate the pain somewhat, but ultimately, there are no cures/remedies and the pain always comes back. I even have a tens unit and that doesn't work either

I usually only stretch before I workout unless I feel tightness. As far as the hanging upside down, I was thinking about getting one of those Teeters I see advertised on TV. TR you say it doesn't work?

it doesn't work for me because my problem isn't an alignment problem or a disc problem. Technically, i have calcium deposits on my vertabrae that irritates the tissue, causing inflamation. An antiflamatory like aleve helps some.

To avoid joint problems I use glucosamine, cissus, and fish oil with much success. I even ran oral winstrol once and didn't have any joint discomfort while on these supps.

When I hang on to the pullup handle bars on the cable crossover machine. I can feel some back relief while dangling from the decompression of the spine. So maybe in my case inversion might help?

I can relate to the stretching twice a day or at least once a day, for my condition. I herniated my l4/l5 disc and was in severe pain for about a year. After doing countless hours of stretching and core exercises, I am able to say that I am pain free. I still have to stretch 1-2 a day everyday to stay pain free and if I miss a day, I gradually feel a little worse the next day. Also, sitting with a straight back all the time helps.

I know a lot of people that swear by them.

This product works well for me as well. Not due to cold just due to old and worn...LOL
