    MyFitnessPal....awesome app!!!!

just downloaded this app today, and it is great!!! it will allow you to log all the food you eat in a day & tally up all your calories. you can select food items for their huge database of pre-loaded foods, or you can add your own and enter the macros for those foods as well.

the main idea is you enter in your gender, height, weight, goal weight, age and it will automatically tell you what your calorie intake needs to be at, and as you add the foods you eat, it dedeucts from your total daily goal so u see how many calories are left to take in.

at the end of the day, you hit complete and it will save the day for you to look at later on if you want. much easier than keeping track myself, lol. it even has different brands of peaanut butter, including natural. breads, pastas, rice, meats, fruits, veg, etc.

just wanted to let you all know about it if you havn't heard of it or if you are looking for an easy way to keep track of your diet & calories.

Not only that you can track your workouts and cardio on it. This will count in your calories spent on the treadmill, bike, etc. however it doesn't account for anaerobic stuff. I always figured it'd burn at least a few calories. Maybe I'm not doing enough reps. Lol

Also try to use the built in barcode scanner. It'll blow your mind

nice, i'll check it out....i was trying to keep track on the notepad in my iPhone, but that takes ALOT of time and not really convenient at work when i'm doing a million things at once.

MyNetDiary is the best one for me by far. It has a huge database, scan in your foods with UPC's and even keep measurements. Love it.

I like how you can customise the macros to your needs, mines set to 40/40/20, if would be really awesome if you set it up to do a planned weekly carb cycle.

Also I thought we could have our own sub forum on there, there is a community type feature, maybe we could utilise it? 0.02.

yeah, i gotta tinker with it a bit, but i already (basically) put in everything i ate today, and i only have 650 calories to go.

i'm trying to bulk, and i felt i wasn't hitting my required calorie intake, but i think i'm surpassing it (not including the exercise deduction.

can't seem to adjust macros on either app, maybe i'm just not looking in the right menu??

i did start using the bar code scanner on MyFitnessPal and it is awesome. no searching for the food, just scan and BAM!!!

i'm finding it's tough for me to take in 2800-3000 calories to bulk, especially on gym days where i need to eat what i burn as extra calories, and even more especially since i'm trying to keep the diet clean. i want to build muscle but stay lean at the same time, so trying to avoid garbage meals as much as possible.

i've been cutting the past 2 months (and 2 weeks), dropped 17lb. switched to bulking last week

I have this app but it says I only need 2470 cal to get from 165 to 180lbs. This sound right to anyone. I thought I needed to be higher.

How many lbs are you trying to gain per week? The default is 2 I think. So unless you modify it you may have a slow roll on your hands. Try those numbers for a day and at the end of the day close the entry. It will forecast your wt for five weeks out at that caloric intake.

Says .5 per week. Ill have to change that and see what it looks like. I dont want to get fat tho as lean as posible.
