Creatine Shelf life

I am on a tight budget. I recently went to GNC and there was a shelf of creatine which was marked down to less than half price. I bought 2 containers and noticed the date on the containers was Nov. 2001. I keep these in the fridge. My question is that one friend told me that creatine has a 2 year shelf life. Others has said it's alot longer. does anyone know what the shelf life of creatine is? Did I just waste my money? Thanks

I don't know exactly about the shelf life, but if it's out dated I woudn't recommend using it. They already push that shit as far back (in terms of expiry date) as they can. Probably not a wise idea. I had some expired, and I tossed em. That's just me though. Better safe then sorry.
