Do testicles always shrink on hrt?

I'm 62 years old, 5'11", 175lbs. and in relatively good shape but I have low free test. I was on Androderm 4 mg patches for 6 weeks in August/September. My testicles began to ache after about a month. I posted this condition on the board and was told that my natural t production was shutting down and my testicles were shrinking. I tried to address the low free test issue with natural supplements to no avail.
Yesterday my doctor prescribed Androgel 1.62 and my insurance accepted it. I know if I start it I'll have the same shutting down and testicle pain issue. I'd like to know how long the testicle pain lasts and how small my testicles will get as time goes on. Thanks for the imput guys. You guys have been really helpful to me as I go through this.

You'll need to add hcg to avoid drug induced testicular failure.

I inject 250IU every other day. Insulin syringe, right into my belly fat. the boys came back in about a week.

My insurance covers it, but still much cheaper to use an overseas pharmacy and pay cash. I have a script, but don't necessarily need one if you go this route.

Testicular atrophy takes place when you introduce enough exogenous testosterone to suppress your own testosterone production. hCG is an analog and assists in restoring your testies to their normal size and encourages testosterone production by imitating LH (luteinizing hormone)

I don't know the answers, but I can say for #1 I have read many anecdotes of people not experiencing much if any testicular shrinkage. I wish I were so lucky, but the hCG others mentioned works for me.

1) YES, unless there's some condition/pathology that is causing other complications. The leydig and seratoli cells respond to the LH & FSH signal triggered in the pituitary on a negative feedback loop. Once exogenous test is introduced, this process gets suppressed, unless again there is another variable (like a tumor) that may be interfering with this process.

2) The pain and how long it lasts varies and is different with everyone. For me, it is pretty much exclusive to my left testicle; maybe a tiny bit in the right. If I don't tend to it, the pain is ongoing and quite uncomfortable!le

3) Again, this will vary between each person. They can eventually and potentially shrivel down to 1/10th of a normal size testicles. The longer one goes without reintroducing the LH analog, the more they will shrink, and potentially there will be a chance that the testicles will not respond (or minimal response) to HCG therapy.

HCG is simple and effective, and provides the testicles with the LH analog to keep them working just like they did before the HPTA starting experiencing suppression.

if your testicles were atrophied before you ever started TRT due to whatever health reasons, then maybe your balls won't shrink. otherwise, you should expect some shrinkage.

I'm a year into treatment and have noticed only minor shrinkage. No soreness. Big drop in amount of ejaculate, however. For now, I'm taking nothing but pellets.

It's won't get better...only worse over time.

You need to add in some HCG either through your Doc or one of the better online research companies.

There is an oil based sublingual HCG. Would that be effective? I'm asking if that would be an option instead of pinning? Thanks.

I've heard of sublingual HCG but from everything I've studied the only way to get HCG effectively into the blood stream is through SQ injections.

Ive been waiting for mine to shrink but haven't had luck with that.. I mean if Im on TRT already, they are pretty much useless especially since I don't ever wants kids. But oh well, at least this new girl finds ways to play with them while we are taking care of business haha so eh

Hey, I'm 51 and been on a gel for 9 months. Sorry, but my balls 'aint useless. Neither are yours. . Last month, I started to finally see a bit of shrinkage along with a slight amount of pain. I said "F" that and started doing hcg. Within a week, all was better than ever... I mean EVER! Libido has increased, as well. Just something to think about. Its so easy to administer and the benefits rock.
