    Strange knee pain - weird

Ok so I lifted legs 5 days ago. I do Leg Extensions, presses then Hack squats to finish off. For presses I did get a personal best 680lbs for 9 reps. I follow the HIIT training so I usually do 2 warmup sets followed by 1 working set balls to the walls to failure. So the first day after legs I wake up, a little discomfort, but nothing abnormal. Day 2 hardly any pain. Day 3 and 4 zero pain. Day 5 (this morning) I wake up and my right is in severe pain. When I press on it like a Dr would it hurts to the touch on the right "side" of my knee. I haven't done anything since working out that may cause any injury. Any ideas?

It could just be Delayed onset muscle soreness....Legs are like that...I killed my legs in workouts and I've had the worst pain hit 4-5 days in...It's different then other body parts especially if you don't work them enough...

It can happen with major injury that you don't feel anything right away but typically with 24 hours you would notice something is severely wrong...But if you actually did injure it, it is probably the Lateral collateral ligament (LCL) if it is your right knee...If it is your left knee it is probably your MCL...

Go to doc man...I already posted something on this earlier...If it doesn't better within few days for sure see a doc, especially if it is SEVERE

This isn't muscle. This is ligament or tendon or something. I had zero pain until day 5 after lifting.

Your tendons and ligaments can get sore too...Aka Tendonosis and tendonitis...Especially if you've lifted for a long time...My pec tendons will always be sore 2-3 days after I lift chest...It is not muscle, it is just soreness to the tendons because I've lifted for so long...

But yeah, if it is severe, then it is what I said...Either LCL or MCL...Which leg is it???

But I also find it hard to believe it could be VERY severe because 5 days is a little too long...You should be able to tell within 24 or so if something severe...Talking about can't bend your knee...Have to walk down the stairs stiff legged

Sounds like a cramp of something like that. Things just tightened up and causing pain. Drink ,more water, potassium and stretch. Use ice on it, no heat.

    Wierd pain yes.
After workouts and on rest days....did do anything to twist ur knee or injure it? What do you do at work? Did you do extra deep squats/presses?
Are you on cycle and that's ur pin leg??

    5 days after....shouldn't be muscle
    Without trauma...shouldn't be ligament tearing
Sometimes Tendons can be funky and develop "itis" but usually slower onset.
Cartilage within knee sometimes can lock up a knee or get painfully pinched...and if the pain is on medial side of knee the mcl can be painful as the medial cartilage is tied to it...or lateral
Miniscus derangement can feel like lcl area pain

But true red hot swollen tender wierdness out of the blue, no trauma or incident is different and could use dr visit and possibly tests..
Main diff diagnosis to rule out would be infection...and need to be ruled out with more details/history/evaluation...as I mentioned..are you injecting close to this site? Is the area hot or red to touch?
Posterior knee more than lateral/inner knee could be blood clot.
Severity?? Walking on it and we are talking about a small pimple like area that is tender or is it a poorly defined large area that is tender?
Bruise...did you happen to bump it recently and your sore legs was at first more sore, and now all that's left is the bruise area

Anyways, see a doctor or provide more details.
